If you don't know, you shouldn't consider yourself a serious bass fisherman :stirthepot:
that is his wireless link to his factory in China to see how many of his rods he has sold this week. LOL

EB Enterprises 121G - Flux Capacitor | O'Reilly Auto Parts

GPS trackers from his trucking business to track where other competitors are fishing so he can move in on em'.....

It's his way of pre fishing during a tournament so he knows where to fish and not to fish. Day one on the water he catches his limit then travels in time to day two and starts eliminating water. Then the same for day 3. It's the newest thing on the market, you didn't know that?
Been there since this past classic at least..

Geez......all that extra stuff to run lithium?........sign me up......
I doubt it's necessary to run the batteries. I know a few others that run those batteries and don't have those deals. Most likely it's in his sponsorship deal to have those visible as an indication he's running their batteries which you wouldn't see in the boat.
The only advantage they have now is the weight. They say they will last 15 years but when you start reading the warranty information you find out they are almost all guaranteed 1 year only. After that, best of luck with your $2000 each batteries. I know their websites say they have one for $1200 but when you get to reading the specs you realize it's got the amps of a group 24 car battery. When you get to equivalent amps of a group 31 flooded, you are right at 2 grand each.
Weight wise, Boyd's boat is one of the fastest I've ridden in. I rode in 2 Tritons that same week and his was about 4 mph faster than the other one. Don't know if it was 100% weight saving from batteries or not, but that's the way it was. Compared to a few years ago we are getting a lot of weight in the back of these boats. 50 gallons of gas, power poles and pumps, jack plates and pumps, 4 or 5 group 31 batteries, 3 gallon oil tanks, whatever. It doesn't sound like much weight savings, but it's right in the back and it probably cancels out the jack plate and power poles
