I doubt it's necessary to run the batteries. I know a few others that run those batteries and don't have those deals. Most likely it's in his sponsorship deal to have those visible as an indication he's running their batteries which you wouldn't see in the boat.Quote:

Weight wise, Boyd's boat is one of the fastest I've ridden in. I rode in 2 Tritons that same week and his was about 4 mph faster than the other one. Don't know if it was 100% weight saving from batteries or not, but that's the way it was. Compared to a few years ago we are getting a lot of weight in the back of these boats. 50 gallons of gas, power poles and pumps, jack plates and pumps, 4 or 5 group 31 batteries, 3 gallon oil tanks, whatever. It doesn't sound like much weight savings, but it's right in the back and it probably cancels out the jack plate and power poles
