OK.. so Im a real bonehead..somehow or another my onboard clock was set to the wrong time...and my cell didnt have service and tell me what time it really was..so we came in an hour late http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mad.gif ..everyone was gone..I had some nice fish http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mad.gif ....around 10-12 lbs..had a blast..beautiful weather..so lets here who won..

A couple of nice guys as dressed in Ranger garb took it all with 14 pounds, Jboss and Wannabee had three that went a little over 7 pounds for 2nd place.
Being my first time meeting most of you guys I am not sure the names of the first place team. They had a solid limit. A bunch of us had two keepers and caught all the non keepers you wanted.

I had a good time, We caught a boatload of fish(most of them short) We got on our spot early and were catching a chitload of short fish so we made the move looking for bigger fish. I thought we had pharked ourselves but we caught 3 keepers the biggest going about 3 1/2pnds. It was nice to be able to put some name to the faces and I'm going to do my best to make the rally in the spring.

Saturday:
Caught a boatload --- of 2 # gizzard shad on Flukes, caught several short fish on topwaters, caught 2 NICE stripers on spinnerbaits... All in all it sucked a monkeys' arse! We thought about using Steve's excuse of losing track of time http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif , but was just too tired and frustrated to stay out til' everyone left the ramp...
Sunday:
Caught 1 dink on topwater, got soaked by some cruiser's rollers, went home about noon...
I think I'll go fish the Ohio River from now on...
Had my sick son in the boat all day who never wanted to go home (I asked him every 10 min.) but only fished maybe 15 min all day. When we went home and he didn't get out of bed till 9 Sunday morning. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/eek.gif
Sunday, Lucas said he thought he would have given our team way too much advantage if he'd fished more than 15 min, but since I preformed so poorly he would fish the entire days at the rally next spring. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
Caught a whole whole lot of short fish, 2 keepers the biggest was just over 3, had a school of big fish chasing shad all around us just before noon and could not convince them to hit a lure. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif Note to self, pick up some more spinnerbaits in blue glimmer.

Caught stripes and shorts Friday, caught mostly short fish Saturday during the tournament, 1 keeper largemouth. After the tournament, went back to Blood River, put on at the neighborhood ramp with my son and father in law, went less than a mile and watched my father in law catch 4 keepers in about 45 minutes. I handed him a rod with a crankbait and said "the short fish and the stripers were liking this, you won't catch anything big but it ought to be fun." Next thing I knew, keeper smallie, keeper largemouth, keeper largemouth, keeper smallie, 14.9999 largemouth. We caught several Saturday evening and a few more Sunday late morning.
Sorry to my partner Jim Lynn, that I could not put us on any more fish, but it was a good day on the lake and good to put some faces with avatars.
We tried topwater and couldn't get bit, we stayed in one pocket hitting grass patches in less than 3' and had our limit by 10:00 am we lost 3 fish over 4(got to love rattle traps http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/mad.gif ), we ran to several other pockets after that and every pocket had boats in the rear third so we thought everyone was on the same pattern and we probably wouldn't do that good. Between 12 and 3 we culled 3 fish going into smaller pockets, everyone seemed to want to be in the larger pockets one of those was the smallie that was in about 1' of water, all day long we never caught a fish deeper than 3', overall we had about 50 fish counting shorts. We were suprised at 14-15 we had guessed around 12.5 but all day long those were some of the fattest fish I've seen we had several 14" that I bet would've hit 2 1/2lbs you could tell the fall feed was going on. It was a fun day now I would like to play hookey and go back

Eric and I had the wrong bait because we fished the same way but with spinnerbaits and only caught a few fish. They would slap at the damn thing all day just wouldn't hook up.
Sunday was no better for us either should have ran south of the bridge Saturday cause there was 4 or 5 boats in every cut on north KY.

I am never going to live down the "Ranger Garb" description http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif I applogize, heck I do good to remember my name on the way home much less a bunch of guys I just met for the first time. I KNEW if I described the winners that way someone in the know would have names. In case you didn't notice I had a shirt on with "Champion Garb" and did not come close to winning. We also caught all our fish in shallow grass. The two keepers came on a rat, most of the fish came on a suspending rattle trap or a worm with a 1/16 ounce weight worked through the grass. I had to run to TN or buy the wife a KY license for the day so we hoofed it down to TN. I had to spend the first 10 mins loooking at the "pretty deer" drinking in the fog. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif I figure she is a good sport to make that run in the cold azz fog, it was a fantastic day on the water. Hope to learn more about that lake over the next few years. Its never a bad day on the lake when you take home some kind of knowledge especially on a bad day. We actually worked wind blow small pockets on the main lake on the LBL side. We found lots of gizzard shad working bait so I figured it was the ticket spot and would turn on sometime during the day.
I over worked the blue glimmer spinnerbait trying to cover water. I did catch 2 on a rattle trap but I was getting more slaps and bites swimming a 1/4oz D&L Black and blue jig with saphire paca craw. This should have told me to slow roll the spinner bait.
Saturday would have been a good day of eliminating water for a tournament http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif I did lose some good fish but they where not actively feeding like what we saw when I went out with Dave on Sunday. Sunday we just could not get them to actively feed on the baits we had.
