Fished another tourney where my outboard did not start, but stayed on my trolling motor and spotlocked a few times winds were 10 to 15 ENE after 8 hours in the tourney I still had 70% battery life in my lithiums try that with a lead acid battery...lol and no getting weaker as theday went on just as strong at 3pm as they were at 7 am. Glad I made the change ,just wish I could run one on my outboard but cannot...
Yeah I’m beyond belief with mine!! I’m just a small boat, 12v 45# tm…. I can fish 2-3 days and barely use any charge!! I think I could go 4 or 5 before having to charge but I’m not going to try that..

After having Lithium for 21/2 yrs another benefit that I have found is no corrosion on the posts to clean off.

I have ran them for 3 years now on T motor and engine. Changed T motor to a 36v last year I'm very impressed with them.
I know I'll never go back to lead. And the app to keep an eye on things is nice too especially when the trolling motor is working overtime on windy days. My only regret is I only have a pair of 60's on a 24v Ultrex but that's more than good 99% of the time.
Lithium for the win, a game changer for sure!
I have a little BassCat Margay 17'7" and the 100ah mini lithiums make it easy to do 36v and save weight and space. I actually have 4 100ah minis and a lead acid starting battery. Would not be possible with lead acid.
Why can you not run one on motor?

I decided to get one for my pond hopper. Just a 10' pelican.
I went with a 140ah lithium. Only got to use it twice so far.
I charged it to 100% then used it twice without charging again.
22 hours of fishing in heavy wind and I still have 60% power.
I am the same. Never really had an issue. I own lithium's and really do not notice a difference at the TM at all. Couple times I was running on 7 or 8 on my ghost all day with SLAs and never had a real issue fishing that day. Though i did deplete the batts pretty good, i was more worried about them being charged the next day.Quote:

Switched to 50AH Ionic's a few years ago, fished a wednesday nighter last night, in heavy weeds/wind, checeked them this morning, they are at 86%. Rarely use more then 20-30% on a 4-6hour fishing trip.
Definitely a major difference switching to lithium. They are pricier than lead acid but well worth it in the long run.

My lead acid trolling batteries are on the 7 th year of service. Still fine. I rarely fish more than 6-7 hours anymore but almost weekly.
I like having reserve capacity in case I have to troll home without risking damaging the batteries--Lead Acid will cut capacity the more it drops below 50% SoC; AGMs tend to lose service life the more that they drop below 50% SoC. If you never drop below 50%, then you likely to encounter issues. Also, I like not having to maneuver 60-75lb batteries in weird angles in tight quarters on my 40 year old boat, and I also don't have to deal with terminal corrosion in the same way that I deal with it on lead acid and AGM batteries.Quote:

I'm old school and used to say same thing but finally bought lithium 2 years ago. All I can say now is why did I wait. I have 1 engine battery and 1 36v Tmotor battery weight savings alone was a big plus. Went from 290 lbs to 70 lbs took out 220 lbs.Quote:

Im on day 4 at Mill Lacs w 50ah batteries, might charge them in a few more days. I am at 72% for tm, I do have a stealth system.
I do use my talons some but have been on the tm more than normal the last 4 days. I am fishing within 2 minutes of the ramp so not much charge on the run going on.
I do have a quest tm, 20' bass boat etc.
I have 405ah for my electronics, I used to have to charge every couple days because of the 125ah, so I added a 280ah.
Now my tm and electonics seem to be staying about equal percentage wise.
What is the typical investment for a 36v ultrex setup with onboard charger that I'd need to swap out for a charger capable of charging lithiums i would assume? Also, what are you doing for starter batteries?

I fished a HS tournament today and used my Helix 10 most of the day and the aerator often. I idled twice across the lake 100 yards or so. My voltage never moved. I have a Weise 100 AH dual purpose deep cycle battery. I have been extremely impressed with it so far.
If what you're doing is working that's all that matters. When I bought my new boat a couple years ago my dealer showed me the lithium batteries in his personal boat (Gambler with a 250XS) and the app and such. Since I wanted to start a new boat out with new batteries I told him to go lithium on it. Glad I did and the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages that probably won't happen to most people. And it's nice knowing I'll never have to wrestle a 75# battery in or out of the boat again. Can also float in shallower water too. Blew my mind where I was able to get my boat last time I was on Nimrod.Quote:
