I want to buy some stuff today but waiting till May to start.
Moving some more off in my 401k today. I don’t think we are done yet.
Hard to catch a falling knife without getting cut. Personally I would wait. More excitement to come.
My Roth is 70% in XLK and I’m 82 and retired. My wife’s Roth is 50% in XLY. Luckily we are only 20% in equities and 80% fixed.
fingers crossed that today is as strong as futures suggest. A few days of trading up, trading down and I will feel better that the market is adjusting to new earnings outlooks and that panic selling is reduced.
again, fingers crossed
Still, even with some stability I think it will be late summer to see the real fallout of this situation; especially if inflation rises and people loose jobs
I bought shares of NVDA and GOOGL at the open yesterday. GOOGL is an intended long hold, NVDA could end up a swing trade as I have a tight leash on it.
Stopped out on NVDA, still made a nice profit. Swing trading a megacap. Interesting times for sure.
A sea of red.
It's a total crapshoot buying now without inside info on the next tariff news.
Someone thinks they have the power but they do not.... 105% wow
Going to be an interesting ride for a while. 3-3.5% up then flipped to 2% down. At least oil is under $60 a barrel. If us normal folks can afford to go anywhere.
I would suggest making a shopping list tonight of stocks you really want for long term and what price would you want to buy the stock at that you would kick yourself if you missed it. Then, tomorrow morning enter the limit order making sure it includes pre market trading. We might get some great stocks at unbelievable prices in the next few days.
What would be your top 5 for long term ???
Desperate..... Me thinks the rest of the world is laughing at him while he burns in the fire he created.
The Chinese have much more patience and a longer outlook than the midterms allow, and they know it.
Who has the cards now?
Low oil is nice, but not for the wrong reasons.
I was going to buy some and then the IRS took the cash I was going to use:laugh:
I am still waiting for Nitro to tell me we have hit bottom.
Let me know when to pull the trigger.
LOL 90 day pause... This dude
Holy crap they broke the market. I can't even get brokerage date it is moving so violently:laugh:
My goodness - I had not seen the 90-day pause.
Someone close to the administration could make a fortune if they knew about upcoming announcements.
Up over 2000 points now.
I think today at roughly 2pm (note the market has not closed yet) is an incredible example of why I don't jump in and out of markets or funds. The soundbite I saw was 90 days on some countries. Later we may see some was 2 or 20 or 200??? Also recall how we cheered when Mexico and Canada tariffs were delayed; like that was even a start to what was to come.
My best guess is we have 4 more years of rollercoaster and what is hard to predict is potential casualties in the economy where the executive branch looses control.
Lets see if we end up for the week.
Bought AMAT, MRVL and NVDA this past Monday morning.
This whole thing has gotten very tiresome.
I was scraping paint listening to CNBC and heard the anchor say their screens couldn't keep up with the market moves. Jumped off the ladder, saw the 90 day pause on X bought, MSTR calls, 30 mins later sold for 100% profit, went back to scraping paint.
We all know this is BS.
Bought QQQ Monday am
Too beat up to ignore
Might get out quick, but not sure
We do have a tradeable bottom, a reference point. We have a bit of a pullback in the early market, so if you felt like you missed the bottom now might be your chance to buy.
