Has mercury changed it to what you see in the picture or is that an option you can upgrade to? The ad looks to be an advertisement for a new engine not updated parts?
I figured there would be a huge roll out for a new engine. My feeling here is Mercury made these intake covers because they had an issue where someone used those slots as a handle and it cut there fingers and there was litigation on it. I figure this is the response to that. I like the looks of it. The v8 is just for bling.
I did know about the V8 decal coming (it's been there long enough it's in the Parts Catalog). Part# 8M0214842.
Like many of the Running Changes to any particular engine model, the "Louvers" pictured have not yet made it into the Parts Catalog as of today's date.
The 450R used a type of air inlet louver, but it's not the same as pictured. I'll try to make a note to check back on it around the end of November.

I do think the V8 emblem is pretty cool 😎
I want both the v8 emblem looks good and I already have carbon fiber pro xs stickers with silver out line those vents would go great with my motor.

For the vents- I would recommend holding off until after Thanksgiving (approximately). They should be readily available to you in short order after that.
