Glad he is ok...wow
I'm not going to bash the guy but at the end of the day you are responsible for operating your boat in a safe manner whether you are in a tournament or just cruising around. If the guy would have hit the docks further up with some kids swimming around it then it would be manslaughter or negligent homicide charges. Bass boats are great but they come with responsibility.
Is this Round 2?
Why do Rangers do that ?...
I think maybe it's because Rangers don't run with a high lift. But that's just a guess .
I think it was Skippy

This time, IKE wasn't behind the wheel.
That’s not a ranger problem. Two people got killed here about 10 years ago in a triton. Tried to run inside to pass and got caught in the wakes of other boats and loss control. Driver error.
I think any boat will do that if you don’t know what you are doing. Some hulls are more prone than others.
The boat was in the process of a 180 bow hook, but the rock point straightened it out. He would have likely been pitched out if not so close to the bank. He should be in the first pew at Church Sunday morning. If he had 9 lives, he only has 8 left.
Not a ranger issue, I’ve cut that corner hundreds of times in a ranger and never had that happen. He just let off the throttle at the wrong time. Learned a long time ago not to trim down and let off the throttle in a curve. Rangers will slide if driven correctly.
Language warning

I was his Marshall for grand lake a couple of years ago. He is a horrible and unsafe boat driver. I don't remember if it was a 520c or 520L. It made me never want one. Every where we went was full speed. Every boat wake was full trim and full speed. I was close to be ejected twice. If it were not for the oh crap handles. I am speaking from first hand experience with him. So it is not speculation or conjecture. He is unsafe and no regard for safety.
BTW, I have close to 40 years experience in a bass boat.
For the record...i always like ricochet rabbitt
Clearly its the driver, their appears to be some serious bad history. If you get too many speeding tickets or accidents, you lose your license...where there is smoke there is fire with him endangering others. Just really lucky he didn't have a marshall with him this go around
Soiled britches for sure!
It is a great educational video to show how quickly things can wrong. Especially when care is not taken, and a boater puts himself at unnecessary risk.
Didn’t know Rangers and Skeeters bow hook? I guess if you look long enough on the internet, you can find anything you’re looking for. I wonder if it’s because Ranger build about 1,000, 2000, 2,500 boats a year for the last 50 years? Maybe more, maybe less but more than others, so the chance of it happening seems more likely than a boat manufacturer that only build 40 - 500 boats a year. Skeeter also build more boats than others. But is it the boat, or people that can’t drive a boat?
Do you think any boat besides Ranger would have made it through that with the same driver and same conditions?
Or could it be the driver driving too fast and to close to the bank? Trimmed to high? Trimmed to low? Let off the gas? Hit something? Boat improperly loaded with gear? Personally, I think that dude could put a party barge off road like he did with the Ranger.
He should have gone to the front deck and started casting :pimp: Like a Boss.
