Did he retire or something after last season? He was announced as a Co-Host of the NPFL this morning
There is only one day of overlap on 1 tournament.
I watch his youtube channel and he had a really bad bout of Covid which also exposed he has diabetes. He was in real rough shape for a while and seemed really down, would not surprise me if he is going another direction
The after effects from the Covid for some victims has been a life changer losses in respiratory, kidney and liver functions along with damage to other organs that may never be the same again is scary.
Mr Dudley has been fishing competitively for a long time and an opportunity to stay close to competitive fishing using his communication skills and years of expertise without the rigors of the tournament grind could be a welcome change as he evaluates his health concerning his Tournament future.
Yeah they brought up that he is still fishing BPT even tho he is being a co host
He has had kind of an up and down career. A great fisherman, not very good at managing his money, making friends, or working with sponsors. Almost bankrupt after some of the biggest $wins in history, still relevant enough to be on major tours, and does good things off the water. He reminds one of a pro athlete who earns a ton of money and is broke 5 years later.
I've been following him only one I do. Kind of stumbled on to it. Really enjoy his stuff. Seen he had complications being sick hope him the best
A bit surprising to hear that he will be co-hosting, he doesn’t have the polished speaking skills that I thought they would want. Not trying to be mean or offensive, but he does stumble trying to find words during his YouTube videos.
Professional Bass Fishermen in the grand scheme of things are regular people who have real world problems and have often been put on an delusional pedestal by their fans thinking their lives are Idyllic.
I hope Mr Dudley’s Health Improves and he has many healthy happy years with his family regardless of his fishing future.
I like his version of Six Days on the Road.
I think David is just fine and will be fishing as well as co-hosting! This guy doesn't quit and has his health issues under control!!
If you read his own story, he nearly went completely bankrupt, even after winning well over a million dollars in a relatively short time. He even sold his fishing tackle to make ends meet. He got back into the game and has recovered, but after spending my entire career in the fishing industry I can tell you that is not highly regarded by many manufacturers. A guy with his resume should have a very strong list of big sponsors, but he has not been able to attract many major deals.
I watch his youtube stuff. Seems pretty well spoken to me. He wont be a Zona but Zona has also been doing that sort of thing a really long time.
He is currently in great physical condition, better than in years. He is managing his diabetes through medication and diet. He is still full go on the BPT. This is completely an assumption, but I think he is looking for what is next for him and he realizes that social media is as big as actually tournament fishing right now in the industry.
If I remember correctly, when he won the M1 years ago, he gave a lot of money to his church. I'm a fan.
Valid point sir! I watched the little skit on DD’s Facebook channel, pretty funny stuff. He just might be a better fit than I originally thought.

Nobody is going to satisfy everybody and never will. Never been one that would satisfy even half the people who watch or follow the sport. As far as what David has done in his career, only a handful can be mentioned in the same sentence and anybody who knows or has followed professional bass fishing will acknowledge that.
I've had the pleasure of fishing with Dudley a couple of times, he is a great fisherman and competitor. I wish him the best in all his future and current endeavor's.

So does another angler on the opens that hasn't won much money in 5 years...you can speculate who.
:roll::roll:Hey Come On....Everybody knows how generous Wal Mart is to their Vendors and they are lucky those individuals selected them to market their Signature Rods.
You can rest assured that Wal Mart had to offer them Big Bucks up front to get them in their stores plus the endorsers are most likely getting well over a $100 per rod sold and Wally World is taking a loss but using them just to get customers into the store so they'll buy some high profit items when they come shopping for a fishing rod and or a Pink rod and reel combination.
It's just like the Grocery Store Chains putting Turkeys and Beef on sales as lost leaders to draw customers they lose a little on the Turkey or the Beef but more than make it up for it with what else they purchase.
The Wal Mart Customers buying them are also loading their carts with hooks, lures, coolers, sunglasses, Mountain Dew, Little Debbie Snacks, Jerky, Everstart Batteries, Sun Screen, Tylenol, Aleve, Dude Products and numerous other essential Bass Fishing Goodies.
