IMO the light weight of an aluminum boat is one of the reasons why I don't want a glass boat, so when I modified my 14 ft Gregor, at every step my concern was that my mods did not add too much weight.
The plywood foredeck is a 3 ply solid core birch - light compared to regular 5 ply construction plywood. No joists under the floorboards; those floorboards are made of stained 1/8" veneer underlayment plywood which is contact cemented to built up layers of construction styrofoam which in turn conforms to the interior shape of the hull. No weight adding carpet or carpet glue.
There's a Toho-Rig 14 gallon livewell inside the center seat. The door of the storage area forward of the center seat/livewell flips forward to allow someone to sit on the center seat facing the bow.
Anchor and battery for the bow mount trolling motor are in the bow storage area.

I fish some local lakes with HP restrictions, thats the reason for the 30hp. Fishes great(for a tin boat), lots of storage and runs a whooping 26 mph.. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif

Actually if you get 26 mph out of that boat with a 30HP - that's really good! I only get 34mph and I have a 60HP http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif

Here's my rig with a Etec outboard jet on the back.
2011 Crestliner VT19 115 Opti. Lowrance Elite 5 at the console. HDS 7 at the bow. 50 mph gps. was a little worried about a tin after 35 years of glass, but I can say that I'm completely happy.
I have 2 Tin Boats, one is a 2003 Bass Tracker PT185 with 90 hp Merc. MotoGuide 45 (or50 ?) troll motor, Lowrance LMS 480 & X135,, I love BT's this is the 4th one I have owned and never any problems.Used on inland lakes and Ohio River,, The other is a 2003, LUND Fisherman 2000, with Honda 130, Minn Kota Terrova iPilot 80 troll motor,, LCX26 & Hummingbird 788, Cannon Riggers, Big Jon holders , It is a heavy boat and used mostly on Lake Erie, Thing rides like a Caddy and takes rough water really well. Built like a tank..
