New personal best speed today
I went to the river this morning to play & ran new best speed - 87.3 gps
xb2003/200xs, 14" setback, modified pad lip, 200 tooters case.
1 3/4" above the pad
24 gallons of full & no h2o in livewell
28 Chopper 2 (some kind of cut on it) 87.3 gps downsteam and 84.3 gps upsteam on the limiter both ways (6750 rpms)
26 Trophy same setup but 30 gallons fuel 86.4 gps downstream and 81.2 gps upstream on limiter both ways
Later in the day, I had 19-20 gallons of fuel and my livewell was full of h2o and had 18#+ of bass in it and the 28 chopper 2 ran 85.6 downsteam on the limiter (6750 rpms)
I was by myself, 3 extra props, tool bag, small cooler full of drinks, 4 3700 planos, spinnerbait box, 2 tackle bags, miscellaneous cull system, spare line, etc. 8 rod/reels, 4 life jackets, throw cushion, 2 rain suits, extra clothes, net, paddle, etc.
Boat ran solid as a rock with the exception of a slight porpoise at 70+ until I bumped the trim a few times. Running real close to neutral trim at WOT.
On the limiter every time.
Here's a lil fish

Nice numbers! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Keep the chopper II, sell the 3 others and buy a Hydromotive 28 QIV/OT, and you're all done buying props, ....go fishin'

Looks like I need to make a road trip to your fishing hole.
Re: New personal best speed today (xb03)
Jason, this boat use to belong to Chad St Pierre.

Thanks man, it's a really nice boat.
Re: New personal best speed today (JOEALLY)
On a 200XS? Wow.
How is the pad lip modified?
Re: New personal best speed today (JOEALLY)
great numbers, do you have a top speed goal?
87 seems fast for a 200, but the trophy seem slow.
What is the hole shot like with the different prop's.
14" is quite a bit of setback are there any issues created by this?
thanks fun
Re: New personal best speed today (sanadaracing)
The lip has been sanded down. This has been a very debated subject and I'm not recommending it to anyone, the boat came like this when I bought it. But I will say it handles 10x better than the other 2 xb2003s I've owned.
Re: New personal best speed today (urfun1)
The hole shot has been fair to good with all the props.
My goal was mid - upper 80s with 2 men and tournament load.
Motor is for sale as I am buying a 225x Tuesday.
This 200xs is super clean and 122 hours.

14" setback is normal on an xb2003 hull. I'm currently running 15.5" with no problems.
Re: New personal best speed today (JOEALLY)
how does the 225x compare to the 200sx?
Is the 200sx gen1 or gen2

Not sure on comparison yet will update when I get it.
My 200XS is a 2002 year so I'm almost sure that's gen 1.
Re: New personal best speed today (JOEALLY)
Interested in hearing this as well as fuel consumption comparisions
Re: New personal best speed today (JOEALLY)
under the cowl the two engines look similar (minus the direct injection).
The 225x hp advantage over the 200sx maybe from not having to run the compressor, The porting maybe simlar
have fun with your new motor!!
Re: New personal best speed today (xb03fs)
Joe.......congratulations on the 225X......I'm sure you are going to like it. Overall, they are a great motor. I would put the average fuel mpg with them around 5 mpg, maybe a little more but not much. That would be with normal cruising and "getting on it" every now and then. Good luck with it and keep us posted with how it goes after you get it. I think if you are going to run a fishing load, especially if you are going with another person, that you would be happy with a 27 Quad IV OT. Without another person, you might like the 28 in the same prop.
