half of the running (fuel) expenses. the boat payments, oil, upkeep, etc are on the boat owner. buying lunch for the boater is also encouraged when I'm the boater http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
I would think $30.-40.00 and be there to help w the washing waxing and incidentals.
According to past threads on this topic:
Cover all gas, oil, 1/2 of insurance, 1/2 of boat payment, bring lunch, wipe down the boat, limit yourself to 2 rods and one plano box, dont fish til your boater catches his limit, offer to sell him your biggest fish if in a tourny.
Depends on if they offer. If you have to ask then it would be the last time they went for me OR if I knew they couldn't afford it I may take them and never take a dime.
It's your boat and truck so "fair" is going to be what you feel is fair. You should be enjoying the day not thinking about that number. Where are the pics of the new boat?????
Is it a Co angler or a buddy that you fish with? If it's a buddy or usual partner I say nothing for that little bit of gas, but if its a Co angler in a draw type tourney I say 15 is plenty for that.
Are you inviting this co-angler to fish with you? Is it a good friend or family member?
I rarely accept money from a co, even at draw events... Especially if I invite the person.
Our club has a tow fee for co-anglers. I understand the reasoning, just don't agree with it. To answer the question... You are going to burn a gallon of truck gas, at most 7 gallons of boat fuel, 1/8 of a gallon of oil... Half of 8 gallons is about 16 bucks, oil share is about 2 bucks. So a 20 per trip would cover what I feel would be half of eligible co-angler expenses per day. I assume this allows the co to pick a few locations?
7 gallons of fuel to run 10 miles?????
Hey JohnM, I'll post them as soon as she's broken in all the way. I need some personal time before I go plastering her all over the web. We're still on our honeymoon. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif By the way I took her out this weekend on Barkley. I got her up to 67.5 mph, I never seen so many whole trees floating down the river before, It really sucked. But we got the first two hours out of the way. I'm going to Paris Landing next weekend.
from your 4 items listed, $30-$40. That covers all the gas in the boat and then some. sounds like its a really good friend so just talk even every other time each pay full cost. Use to fish with my ex father in law used his truck my boat and called it even.

He said he runs about 10 miles of the river. I used the extreme of 20 miles at 3 miles per gallon. Shouldn't be anywhere near that amount with an opti.
As a co, I split gas but since i fish with my buddy and work on his boat that's it
When I was fishing Stren's and BFL's as a co-angler, I just got in the habit of palming the boater $40 and not taking no for an answer. I upped it to $50 once when we made a 120 mile round trip. That was often more than the half the cost of fuel, but I know how expensive running a tournament boat can be.
I only failed to donate once, and that was with a real butt who put the boat on the bank and casted ahead all day.
As a co I generally give the boater 500 up front then another 500 after weigh in.
I also give 75% of my winnings, then I'll pay the next 6 months of boat payments for him.
As long as he gave me enought water to fish I'll also throw in another 1000 for future truck payments for him.
Last but not least I'll put them on my Christmas list and usally send him 5 Loomis rods and a 1000 dollar gift card.
But thats just me, you can pay what you want to http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/Laugh.gif
If they're invited, nothing. If they're not invited, I don't let them on the boat
My boat has been down for three months having engine rebuilt. In our club tourneys I pay the enrty and give my partner twenty bucks and ramp fee if there is one. I think its fair considering I know the cost of running a boat.
