Thanks for all the help. I've come to the conclusion that the Platinum Plus is the way to go. I checked Navionics site and can't find if the msd/637P+ is compatible with the HDS7 Touch. Is there anyway to confirm it before I buy one?
The HDS is compatible and I'm pretty sure you can find it in the owner manual

Damn wally, you are on it. thanks!!
Wondering if you could post up some screen shots for comparison? I have a Garmin GPSMAP 720 as well and use their Vision card on the Garmin. Now that I've added the HDS12 and I can see the Insight Maps and compare them to the Vision, I'd like to see what the Platinum Plus charts look like.
I fish these areas: St. Marks, FL (Apalachicola Bay) - Lake Seminole, Sneads, FL and Lake Talquin, Gadsden County, FL.
Seeing several screen shots of each area will ease the mind before spending a chunk of change on the Platinum Plus.
Thanks!
Hi Thomas,
let me try and work on that for you tomorrow. I have some images saved in my computer but none of those specifically. if you want you can look at www.navionics.com we have a viewer on there that will let you see the detail of the contours. you cant see the sat overlay or the fish n chip data so I'll work on that I hope tomorrow.
Hey pmnav12, is it true that Navionics is coming out with a blank chip where you will ba able to select the bodies of water that you want, delete them after you're done and select others ?
Thanks for all the advice. I went with the 637 Platinum Plus, hooked it up, and was glad I went with it. Definitely worth the investment.
i have the lcx-113c hd unit. currently have the premium south card. is it worth it to upgrade to the platinum version? what would be the benefits, changes, if any? thanks! also have the lcx-28c hd unit up front.
Thanks for the feedback Shleprock!
boogie: So the word must be getting out. Partially correct. We will have a chart called Navionics Plus. It should launch in the next month. You are correct that it will be a blank chart and you can download for a year anywhere you want until the chip is full. This includes freshwater and saltwater for anywhere in the USA as well as the additonal SonarChart layer (of course viewing this depends on the plotter capability). Total retail on chart is $179. There is currently not a "delete" feature on it. Just goes until the 2 gig chip is full. When it goes live, I'll certainly post more on it.
Thomas, I apologize. I didnt get to do your screenshots yet. Been traveling. In office tomorrow. hopefully I can bang a few out.
Wally thanks again.
pmnav12.......I just sent you a long winded PM. Thanks......
Is there a limit to the number of waypoints that can be shared across devices? Not all of my waypoints that are on my PC app are being shown on the mobile or iPad app.
.................
bpy: You wont be able to share PC App info with phone info. Two wont chat. if you found a way... please tell me!! :praying:
Thomas... having issues with tiny pics. so have to do it this crappy way until i upload a new IE version. meanwhile feel free to go to www.navionics.com and check out the viewer for more areas. first few are St Marks. Next is seminole and last three are talquin.

Interesting. Well, on the PC App, I went to the 'Settings' option and checked the 'Sync my data' option. Then on my iPad and iPhone, I opened the mobile apps, and did the same. At some point, it asked me to sign in on each device with username and password and away I went. I now have 200 waypoints on both mobile devices. But, as I said, they aren't all showing up, just some of them. I've sent the same question to Navionics Cust Service, so we'll see what they say.
pmnav12.........on these pictures you just posted, I see the icon in the lower left corner about the 'location' icon. Is that the 'Sonar Chart' icon? If so, how do you get it on your mobile devices? I just upgraded one of my cards.....does that do anything for me??
Which chips have the Fish n Chip view? I have an HDS12 with Platinum Plus Card and love the Fish n Chip View. But I need another for my HDS9 but do not want to buy another platinum plus.
only platinum plus at this point...
