I acutally have that thru hull installed in my livewell for a livewell temp sensor, but not super keen on drilling a hole in the boat for one - which is why I was considering the smaller brass type, which could just be screwed onto my jackplate for instance... But hoping Lowrance can sort it out, b/c I def like the image improvements 25.1 brings to SS3D.Quote:

I have Live's and a Live Pro but no AT or Ghost. Will this update improve any of my functions (not having any issues currently)?
I think I'm going back to the previous version, AT 2 first then if needed the Pro that it runs through. Yesterday I crappie fished and really struggled to see the 1/16oz hair jigs I was casting. My noise reduction was on medium, so I set it to low it helped but dirtied up the screen. In fairness the lake is dirty, and the water is 6'+ over the normal summer pool. When the lake gets back to normal I'll go back out and see if it's any better.
Also my 16 Live that AT 2 is displayed on got stupid twice. I have the quick keys set to decrease, increase the depth and range. When I pressed the top button to increase the range the screen went black like the unit was off. I pressed it again and the screen was very dim and had a small clock face like a timer running then it flickered and came back to normal. Later, it did the same thing again except after it went blank I pressed the button and it came back to normal. The rest of the day if ran flawlessly.
I performed a hard reset on all four units, two Pro's and two Lives after the updates.
Hi Marc - welcome back, hope you had a good trip :). Yeah I think an add on temp sensor of some sort is in my future, unfortunately. Leaning towards the NMEA for simplicity. So far the only response from Lowrance has be to try to reload the update :(.Quote:

So I have a new to me HDS Carbon 9" and 12" ,NMEA 2000 Networked , and ethernet connected through Structurescan 3D Module with XCDR-DSS3D Transducer. Also have an Motorguide xi5 with pinpoint gateway on nmea and a mercury vesselview for my merc engine also nmea networked. Everything works EXCEPT it wont show Water Temperature! All devices are on the latest firmware versions. I have searched and googled everything, I have done soft resets and hard resets, I have changed the order of turning devices on. I have gone into the sonar settings and selected SS3D Transducer and I have also let it on unknown because since its networked you shouldn't have to select a transducer for either channel because its not using the graphs channels. I have tried Water temperature under sonar, no temperature sources. Plugs on transducer are labeled 1 and 2 , i still tried swapping them just incase the previous owner marked them incorrectly. I am at wits end on why this unit will do everything but show me temp!

I know a little, but by no means am I an expert on Lowrance. I run 4 Lives, SS3D, AT2, Ghost, NMEA, and EP-80R (temp sensor). When I updated my units to 25.1, my SS3D temp and EP-80R became invalid in my network. With my NMEA and my HDS Lives on, I unplugged my EP-80R from the NMEA, waited 30 seconds and I plugged it back in. My EP-80R started showing up in my network. Like everyone else on the board my SS3D doesn't show up either. You are not alone as you can see from this thread. I assume Lowrance programmers are working on this "bug" in the computer program.

Its not the only problem with this update. My Xi5 does not like it at all. Sonar goes blank when switching sources and will not come back unless turn the unit off and on. Other sonar issues too. Hoping for some quick updates or its gonna be a long summer.....:ohwell:

Theitguy, yours is easy. You don’t have a 2D transducer with temp. So since the software 25.1 took away the 3D temp, you currently don’t have a temp available on your network. I’m actually surprised anything works on your system as I thought a 2D source was required even if a Structure source was available apparently not since your system worked before this update. But in truth, you are really missing out on a lot of information without a 2D transducer.
I lost a few commands for my Xi5 also. The biggest is it will not "RESTART" a route once you gps lock while you were following a pre-programmed route on the mfd.Quote:

Or do i need to move my transom mounting plate over to the right? I still have my AI2 3-1 but figured those wouldn't work well side by side and was thinking of adding it to my xi5 and my carbon 9 at the bow. but that isnt a goal. The goal would be to get the most out of this set up.

StructureScan is a very thin slice of the bottom perpendicular to your direction of travel. The way yours is mounted, you surely can’t get any depth readings when going faster than about 5 mph. 2D sonar is designed to show a cone of information which can be more useful than the thin slice of SS especially if trying to see fish movement off the bottom. Whatever way you like it, obviously it’s up to you. Just never heard of anyone without a 2D transducer. Continue on, I won’t bother you anymore.
went out today with 25,1 AT2 is a big improvement but noticed i had lost my depth at the consol when running i have live units bow and consol and use a in hull transducer to give me depth when running on plane that is the only problem i can see , asking around i am not the only one with this problem The puck i am using has been in the boat since the Gen 3 days but is still on the Live unit compatible list
As mentioned earlier, check your data sources and be sure depth is coming from the source mounted in your hull. This is very common after software updates. Pages, Settings, Network, Data Sources.
