According to some Helix Mega is not the big announcement

i guess that depends on who you are. it is a big announcement as is the brand new transducer, but these are not the only announcements. personally i'm waiting on what else is coming.
doug can you find out the q factor of this new transducer?
I agree!
Don't get me wrong I think this is big news and something I am very interested in
But the talk for the last three weeks as been that the announcement had nothing to do with the Helix
Not to mention Troy's little teasers
And with the post of Minn Kota and Humminbird's "Joint" announcement (press conference and product launch) for today I thought there would be more
Show in Amsterdam goes thru the 17th...we should know soon if they are going to announce something. I am very excited to hear what it is. If Troy is excited it has to good....
...
Is there a price list on these yet?
These are Bill's ... and Troy posted them earlier in the thread ...
Notice these are the 790kHz - 850kHz CHIRP ... not the 1200 Mega ...

I'm a little confused but according to HB's website the DI models (12 & 10) don't mention MEGA, only the SI models. The G2N DI 12 & 10 list Chirp 2d and Chirp DI, will the transducers for the DI G2N models be different than the G1 DI transducers? If not then surely the G1 DI units could get a software update for 2d and DI Chirp. Fingers crossed here for my new 10 DI.
at 280ft range, they are pretty sharp
Then hopefully us G1 DI owners can get a 2d and DI Chirp software upgrade, I don't want to feel completely left out of the party
Is the helix 7 series g2n still not link compatible?
from what i saw it's just slightly larger than the current HDSI transducer
I posted those on page 2. it sure seems like the images fade on the sides at that range. the garmin units stay bright all the way to 600 ft a side. they are just not as detailed
