Lookin good Garland. I havent had a chance to upload my pics yet, but I can say we are almost in the same spot. I might not get much done this coming weekend, because I might be moving into a new shop. 30x50 :)
Thanks, it has rained here last two days and suppose to contine until Saturday. I have been reading alot on the Bateau2.com website about the various woods for floor and transom replacement as well as fiberglassing the stringers. I also have tried to upload my pictures on the bbc website. I hope this works.
Are you moving your boat into the shop or your business?
Hope you can get some work on yours this weekend.
Garland

Whats up Scott? Did you move into the new shop today? The weather was in low 80's with light wind and made for a great day outside. How is your floor and transom coming along?
I managed to get the remaining foam out Wednesday night before trash pickup! Today i got the two outer stringers removed and am leaving the inner two. It is a tedious and also requires finesse to remove the stringers. I removed the glass on both sides and then i kept working from side to side not to damage the hull or make blister cracks. Learned that the hard way on the back transom area.
I assumed that i could get new wood for the stringers from home depot but the longest they carry is 12'.
I did not make it in time to 84 lumber before they closed. They carry it in 16' lengths and is what i need. I was able to salvage both stringers and the port stringer pretty much was removed intact. I'm going to get the wood on Monday evening and use the one to make an exact template and also it will give me the right angle i need to cut on the bottom of the stringer where it will be epoxied to the hull. I'm going to add some additional 90 braces to add support for the floor area. I also am adding drainage line/pipe to the bow area. Things where the front mini console plate has two drain holes. I'm going to add a line for them to drain into as well as the rear lines.
I took your advice and looked at the bateau2.com website and im amazed with all the experience and knowledge. I also am going to use the marinepoxy brand they sell and woodflour to make my fillet joints.
Hope your getting along good.,
G.
Garland, This thread should be renamed boat rebuild. That is a lot of work that you are putting into it. I have a 91 Stratos and in a year or 2 I will have to tackle that job. I have done a temp. repair to hold it until I have more in order to do the whole thing like you have done. 1/4" holes 18" deep and rot doctor vertical down the transom. That along with aluminum plates inside and out will hold it till then.
Awesome pics and well worth it in the end. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Thanks for reading my post. Yes i wish i could change it to boat rebuild but i dont think it will allow me. : http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthdown.gif
I purchased this boat about 3 months ago and knowing well aboat that old and only paid $700 i figured i can't go wrong http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
I debated on patching it till the fall but considering i need to replace one of the block jugs starboard and top piston, ringes. So i figured it would be best to rebuild the boat and then in winter rebuild the motor. Unfortunately i wont use it till next spring but at sametime it will be worth rebuilding everything and know what i have starting a spring season hopefully no unforseen repairs and enjoyable good times just fishing.
When you get ready to do your own boat let me know and if i can lend some technical advice from my own repair-experience than i will. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif
I'll keep posting pictures as i make progress.
P.s. i was able to borrow my father in laws 80 gal 125 psi air compressor and after the floor/transom is done then i'm going to repair some scratches on the hull and shoot it with new gel coatas well as the top deck. I will say be perpared for it to take time and also when your wife gives you the ole "all you do is work on the boat"
then reply "you know im tired of working on this also let me go down to bass pro and look at the triton my fishing partner just bought for $45,000 and she'll reply, "no honey yours will look nice when your done" http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
lesson from experience. LOL
Anyways, i'll keep posting progress, Garland
Nope, didnt get into the new shop. I had to catch a flight Weds afternoon, and met the woman from the place that rents them Weds morning to take a look.. drove all the way out there and she forgot the key.
I ended up laying around all day Saturday. Then I went out as bank trash and nailed blue gill on Sunday.
Im looking at renting a place at another facility tomorrow.
With all the rain we have this time of year, it might be the only way I get it done. I was actually lucky to get 3 mostly rain free weekends in on it that i did.
