Jeep's slogan should be, "it's a woman thing. You wouldn't understand." Years ago I dated a women with a 6 speed Rubicon. Talk about a loud, rough riding vehicle but she and many other ladies seem to love them. Kudos to FCA for identifying a market and capitalizing.
It’s no different than truck guys wanting to get lift kits, mudding tires, straight pipe exhaust to blow smoke etc. different people like different things.. Almost every person I’ve ever met who decked out any vehicle (truck, Jeep, car) is doing it for the attention, if not they’d leave it stock. Most jacked up trucks I see has never been through mud pits and the owners do it for the attention. just like the Jeeps who’ve never gone on a dirt road or over a rock but have $10,000 worth of aftermarket stuff, or a rice burner car that’s never seen a track and is confined to the speed limits. Those trucks are the toughest riding vehicles I’ve ever been in. I’ve seen it on this site where people want a truck just because they don’t want a car or SUV but isn’t planning on towing anything. That’s no different than a 20yo college girl buying a Jeep to say she has one.
I’ve posted here before but I wouldn’t Buy one agian. Gas mileage isn’t good and it rides kinda rough. Honestly mine has been a money waste.

My buddy had one...I had a sand rail. Got rid of it about 35 years ago. Bought a new one about 8 years ago...finally sold it last year. Loads of fun...but climbing in and out of them got to be old. Too keep the thread on track. Wife owns two jeeps; a wrangler I bought her for her birthday 9 years ago...strictly a "fun" driver; and a Grand Cherokee with all the bells and whistles. Her Grand Cherokee made me take the Ram line serious enough to trade in my GMC Sierra. Wrangler...terrible ride...Grand Cherokee...the other end of that spectrum.Quote:

One of my fondest memories is hunting in the swamps/bottom lands of Clark County AL late 60's, early 70's, with my dad and his friend, who had a 1950's CJ with a cage on the outside of the body. As I got married and had kids, being practical, I knew a Jeep would never work for a daily driver. So I waited. And waited. During that time I too acquired an old 45 willys. Not road worthy, but fun to play around the property with. I finally was able to get a driver...an 03 Rubicon. I set it up the way I wanted. No, I don't use it all the time. But I do use it for off-roading, hunting, fishing, as well as tooling around locally some weekends. It rides ok, drives ok, much better that the old CJs did. It's a hard top, and the AC works great. Oh, and you can carry a 1 piece rod in it. I made a foam block with slots for rods to go in the little tray on top of the dash. I can carry 5 rods, butt across the back seat, tips in the foam block on the dash. I carry 6 and 6.5 ft rods.

The jeep thing has hit big in my area. A buddy of mine died in one a few years ago, another buddy that is a fireman responded to the crash and said he'd never have a jeep based on what he saw of the wreckage. The fireman buddy now has 3 of them. I had a 1960 cj5, never plated it, just poked around the woods in it. It was cool and nimble but hard to drive a 6'4" I got rid of it. Wish I had it now for the kids to putt around in but got a utv they can practice with.
This were a lot more fun to drive.

Grand cherokee limited is probably the most comfortable driving vehicle on the road. I've owned 3 and absolutely loved them. Tons of luxury features solid gas mileage and a ton of power for towing. Nothing like a wrangler
I give Jeep credit they hit a market. Most teenage girls around us have them.
