here's my craigslist barn find! '87 184 dcb with a 175 mercury. lots of extras included. brings back memories of the first "real" bass boat i ever drove which whttp://www.bbcboards.net/attachment....d=242698&stc=1as a '86 184 dcb with an evinrude 150. i'm still in the set up process as this hull responds to props much differently than a skeeter starfire 175.

Our 18' 4" Champ
Our 1983, 18'4" Champ ....
http://www.bbcboards.net/attachment....d=244178&stc=1
Bought it used in 1988 with an over rated, 200 HP hooked to it... (78 MPH non GPS'd in 1988, was way too FAST for him:praying:) , so dad ordered the ALL NEW 2.5L 1988, 150 XR4 which ultimately has been flawless....
The dealer even gave us 150 decals to go over the 200's until our 150 arrived..
Best riding boat around IMO,,, and we've been in them all.
Unfortunately it's had to sit out all it's life in the sun, but always had it under good covers, but the sun still attacked the lower sides gel coat where it wasn't protected...
If only as a teenager I would have been aware of the potential damage, I could have kept it waxed and protected from the UV.
Sad Sad Sad to hear of Champions Fate.... They are the Lincoln/Cadillac of Bass Boats IMO
Heard there's a guy in Mountain Home, AR that worked for Champion for 17 yrs in the Mold dept who does repair.... thinking of giving him a ring to redo the bottom end...
