so from what i'm reading to reload version 22 onto live units and helps with freezing issues of active target? or do i need to reload old software on active target to? is that available anywhere?? thanks

Downgraded just my console hds16 live back to 22.1 and it fixed my interference. I left the bow at version 23.1 and side scan on the bow is still all interference. So if you run both bird and Lowrance side scan i wouldn’t update.Quote:

The email is christopherelliott19@outlook.com I updated my 3 HDS lives to 23.3 and AT1 as well and also experienced the Freeze, I was also restarting the units to get ActiveTarget to work again, but now when I turn on the units the ActiveTarget Module doesn’t even power on and I get a no Source, not sure if 23.3 Fried my module and made it go “dead” or if it’s just the New Software keeping it from turning back on, did you go back to v22 on Active Target as well as the units? If so could you also send me the V22 Active Target1 Software? Thank you!

For those that updated, and did a hard reset immediately after, did you have issues?
For those that updated without a hard reset and had issues, did you do a hard reset later? If so, did the reset fix the issues?

I still had complete lock when changing map source from Navionics to built in CMap. This happened on Navionics also so its definitely related to AT1 being active or turning on from being stopped.
Looks like the Update Completely Killed my AT1 Module, won’t even power on anymore. I suggest anyone who updated an AT1 to revert back before it makes your Black Box go dead as well. Tried to revert AT to v22 but since the black box is “dead” I am unable to, gonna order a new black box to use for a big tournament coming and then send off the “dead” one to Lowrance to see if it can be fixed, if it can be fixed I’ll just keep it as a Spare. My question is when I receive the New Black Box do I have to do anything to pair it With my current AT transducer or will it just be plug and play like with the Original Black Box? Thanks

I updated carbon and 2 lives w AT1, I saved all my settings and then did the hard rest then updated everything. I tested everything on the water for 5 hrs. So far so good. I do believe the AT1 screen looks much better and is more stable with waves. The color pallets don’t work with my glasses, lol… I still think there is a problem w sharing waypoints and maps between the 2 live units but shares fine w the carbon. I can live with that for now. I do have cmap enhanced buiit in, navionics card, and cmap 216 for canada. I’m heading to canada next week, time will tell. I will have a chance to use the next five days locally before I leave…. Even with saved settings, I still had to arrange some overlays, not too bad. I hope I’m ready to go.

Seems as though Lowrance screwed the pouch on this update. Has there been an official statement "any where" on "What They" are doing about it? Sure would ease tensions here on the BBC and show that they give a damn.

I have an active target but can't get it to download on my SD card. I guess I'm too old 71 to figure it out should it be unzipped or a zip file?
My simplified advice would absolutely update AT2 and do not update AT1 (unless you really feel compelled to).
Active target updates are riw files. Only ones that are in a zip format are the updates for the hds, carbons, elite, hook, etc units themselves.Quote:

What transducer? What channels are turned on? Did you do a hard reset? Try to reselect the transducer? Since you are the only one talking about this particular issue, I'd be more looking at settings than trying to downgrade the software version as a first resort.
Your situation is not related to the update. You do realize that your have the cursor up on your screen, and it is above the bottom which is why you cannot see the bottom? Hit the clear cursor menu choice.Quote:

AT 1 froze 4 or 5 times today in 9 hours of fishing. Updated using a card that was in the freshly updated and hard reset Live 9. The two carbons and the Live all work perfect after updating hopefully this gets figured out soon.
Cursor was up so I could have something on the screen I could show rather than a blank screen. Puck transducer in the hull and a 3 in 1. Same with channel 1 or 2. I played around with it in the driveway and it seems to work normal with a networked transducer to the front unit, at least it shows junk past 10 feet.
first time out with AT1 after update it froze 2 times in 6 hours, second outing after hard reset of HDS live unit no freezes in 7 hours of fishing. the reset helped i would say so i would suggest it, i hadnt done a reset on this unit since i had it so i'm sure it had plenty of bugs. only running active target makes it easy to do it because i dont lose any saved settings much but would still be worth it probably.
Hard reset did seem to help me, now the AT1 works well no freeze ups, but am having intermittent 2d problems, several transducers options on the source button. Some I have never heard of, I have 4 Transducers, 3in1, AT1, HDI on ghost , thru hull puck. Seems like the options change, all units are networked and multi sourced . The thru the hull transducer seems to be most problematic, in showing up as source and working
Does anyone have a previous carbon update I can have? I don't see that Lowrance has previous updates available.
Last several trips for me with the update - my main AT2 issue has definitely been fixed - Loss of Bottom/Black screen when pulling TM from water (even for a 30 seconds) - and the images look great/seem better that original AT2 firmware. Like others I did lose my transducers from the console unit - but took a few minutes to reset everything. I hadn't noticed or tested but I checked yesterday and as mentioned the LIVE/Ghost interface is off - and Course/Heading functions no longer work.

How do I revert back to 22.1. MY AT no longer works after the update. Done several hard resets and nothing. I seen a post on here that had the 22.1 software. I put it on a card and the units acted like they were downloading it but when I checked the firmware it still showed 23 version and AT still not working.
Updated AT2, and 2 Carbons (12 and 7) and all worked well for about an 8 hour fishing day. I didn't like the 2 new palettes but I did like the increments of 5 for setting distance and depth - fine tuning to your fishing conditions was great. Never lost bottom and image was amazing - visibility was at least 6' in the water.
I can confirm the ghost navigation via head unit issues exist on Carbon's as well. Couldn't enable spot lock or course lock on trolling pop-up, but no problems with the buttons on the foot pedal. I don't use the head unit for that navigation so it didn't impact me.
I did have an odd issue at the end of the day after turning off bow unit and turning back on - I had a no source found for AT2 but wondering if I hadn't waited long enough between off and on to let the AT2 power down properly. I was at the boat ramp so didn't have time to play with it right there. Tried again at home it started up just fine, so not 100% sure what that was about.
I reinstalled the updates via card. Did a couple of hard resets and then a few power ons and offs. AT started working again. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
I reverted my AT1 as the updates were causing lockups like others have reported (even after Hard Resets), and tbh, i might revert my 4 lives as well. I don't really care for the new pallettes, and am a bit confused on what is broken with autopilot and the Ghost?
Can I manually plot a path on the map, and then start navigating/following that path, or is that broken with the update. If that's broken, then yeah I'll be downgrading the Head Units back to 22....18.
I assume normal spotlock fuctions, jog, etc are still good?
Only issue I’ve had is the software will not load on my HDS live 16. Did the update for both HDS Pro 12’s and active target 2. Tried multiple time downloading from Lowrance. Anyone else have this issue?
Make sure you are getting the file for Live units. The name is the same for Elite, Carbon, Live, and Pro. Once you download it to the card make sure the file ending is .upd, that the file is in the root directory and there are no other files on the card. I’ve done a Carbon and two Lives with no issues. Even had them all on the same card and they used their correct one!

First time out with the new update and my AT1 Carbon locked up several times and lost source a bunch of times. Never had a single ussie before this update.
I think a hard reset fixed my problems but won't know until I get. It in the water. I did a soft reset first with plans to save my settings and do a hard reset next. The soft reset did not fix the issue but it wiped out my settings. I thought the soft reset was supposed to leave settings as is.
I spoke too soon. Hard reset did not fix my issue. It selected the source as the front fish finder. If I select an internal transducer the 2d is once again not working.
