Why does everyone hate nitro?

As a guy who sells his boat every 2 year, I have been happy with resale. In fact I feel it's gotten better in the last 2 years. 58k for a 21 foot plus boat dual console with dual blades. Skeeter is at 68+ for an fx21.... course that is not a dual console.

Rod straps are standard. If u want something else u gotta pay.

Valves are the same on many other brands. Z21 has stainless latches. Seat quality issues have been addressed on the 16s and up.

Have not seen too many underpowered Nitros shipped. They do get ordered by customers though.

Wooden stringers.... damn that was 15 plus years ago. And on the NX models.

They are all good. And all have there selling points. But then again I must be an azzhat.

The reason guys don't like Nitro boats is every time they see one it reminds them they paid 10k+ more for their boat just for the name on the side.

True but Basscat and others will actually fix the problem if it shows up later in use. If you are the 3rd or later owner you are SOL. It is just one of the reasons I will not buy one. I would never disparage anyone owning one though.

Not just Nitro, the vast majority of production boats suck.....

Had a 929 cdx for 9 years. It got the job done, but I like my BassCat Eyra a lot better!

I'm in a 2000 Skeeter 202 bought in 2003, it does everything I need a boat to do. I came out of a 90's model Ranger 391 which didn't have a good of a ride but might have been how it was set up. The hard part for first time owners is knowing what you like. The ranger with the trolling motor down was an excellent fishing boat with a huge deck. The skeeter is right there with it but in different ways. it would be nice to take several brands and fish out of each for a week or so and things would open up on likes and dislikes.

Dude you really hate BassCat don't you? Did your girlfriend cheat on you with a BassCat employee?

I owned a couple and would gladly run a new one tommorrow. Good boats.

I really think Nitros are fine boats as well

If you love me it and it fits your budget get it , the fish don't care what boat your in.

I have a 2010 nitro z9. The boat gets used alot and knock on wood I have not had the first problem with it. I have done routine maintenance like tighten screws and adjust some things over time. But fit and finish I see nothing wrong. I would buy another in a heart beat.

Because they can't do a breech turn as well as a champion! :roll:

I don't hate nitro, but the are priced low until you match up equipment and then the are no cheaper than anyother boat!!!

This is 100% fact.

I can only name a few that cost more. Keep in mind NITRO is fixed pricing. Most other loaded to the gills boats with a $70,000 list price the buyer pays high 50's

If you buy a Nitro buy from a non-BPS dealer, they will more than likely work with you. Also, and this goes for any boat you buy, you can shop around and buy install all the add-ons yourself and save thousands of dollars instead of paying dealer pricing on items and labor. Ex. trolling motor, graphs, power-poles, battery charger, as well as other gadgets.

Sounds like he can get a hell of a deal on the one he's looking at and it doesn't sound stripped down by any means

I believe it is in the posting rules: "Must hate Nitro". All the ones I have rode in seemed like pretty decent rigs.

I don't believe it is really about the ride, it is about the quality. Everyone knows in the past, and it seems to have changed some, the quality was not of other prominent brands such as Ranger, Skeeter, BC etc. They are a cheaper boat. Just are. However, as a past Nitro owner about 8 or 9 years ago, I would definitely give one of the newer rigs a try Like a z19 or z20, just wouldn't buy one from BPS.

Believe you are right Capt Ray--right there with the "Must hate Wal-Mart and Bass Pro Shops" You can shop there just let on here that you do not shop either place :thumb up2:
