The big deal is all about which transducer you ended up with. If you buy a unit that has a bundled transducer included, then it will come with a CV transducer - CV40, CV41, CV52, etc

ALL of the CV transducers do NOT have a true down element, so they have to stitch portions of the sidevu images together to create the down image.

This is not as good as having true down imaging with a dedicated down element in the transducer.

If you bought an older combo, or an mfd and transducer as separate items rather than in a package, it probably came with a GT40, GT41, GT52, etc. All of the GT transducers DO have a true down element and will work just fine.

If you have a GT transducer you are not effected by this issue.
