To soon, we'll be fine. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif BTW, see you in the Rock next year. I'm sure the BCSNCG will be on the line again. Until then, Go Hogs!!!
Re: arkansas football (jigginjeff)
OK. I am a coach's son and i coach youth football. I would much rather have a coach that gets fired up and lets you know it. The handshake and pointing across is all part of it when you get worked up in the emotion of the game. For someone to say coach petrino shouldnt have done that has probaly never played a single down of football and sure never coached at any level. My father has coached high school for about 20 years and has been a part of winng numerous conference and one state title. I know how fired up those guys get and its jsut a small school. Imagine coaching at a major university and having a entire state behind you. What bobby did is fine by me and im glad to see he cares so much he isnt afraid to show it to anyone. The defense is a dissapointment and i feel it will be adressed after the season the offense sputtered but is still well ahead of the defense as a whole. I like and support coach petrino and feel his actions are just part of the emotions you have involved in a big time game and what he did is fine by me. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Re: arkansas football (Dsand)
Maybe now Bobby will finally get the point...defense wins championships. Until the Hogs put as much effort toward the defensive side of the ball as they do the offensive side they're going to continue to suck hind titty against the SEC teams who actually put a premium on good hard nosed defense. Geez, they gave up 286 yards on the ground and they gave the LSU receiver's way too much cushion. Granted, they've only lost two games (to the #1 and #2 teams in the country) and will still get a very decent bowl game but it's pretty obvious they aren't on the same level with LSU or 'Bama.

Let me ask you this, who is on the level of LSU or Bama? Answer: No one! Both of those teams are on a different level than any other program in the nation right now. I am proud of the Hogs 10-2 in the SEC is good ANY year and it is great this year. They are the #1 and #2 teams in the natioin for a reason. Not to mention we played both of them at their house. I do agree that we need a change on defense, but I think a lot of it is scheme. We have some GREAT players on the D-line and in the back 7, they just aren't being coached up. I blame Willy Robinson for that. I think it is time he is replaced. I guess we will see.

Absolutely agree! I didn't see anything wrong with what Petrino did. He was just defending his players. No big deal, move on.
Re: arkansas football (Backlash Ar)
No, we are not on the same level..... THIS YEAR, but Ala and LSU was not on this level last year. We are headed in the right direction, the shortcomings will be fixed and we will continue to get better. My gosh, when was the last time we were winning 10 cames a year? LSU's defense didn't win them a National Championship last year, or a BCS game for that matter. If they would have had any offense at all, they would have. http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthdown.gif
Re: arkansas football (arkiebass)
Everyone needs to take into account the overwhelming mental exhaustion these guys were under too. They lost a teammate, which in a close knit football team would be close to a family member. Mental stress wears a body out more than physical stress does a lot of times and it showed on the field. First qtr and 1/2 it was a heck of a game, then you could tell they just ran out of gas. Got to give the boys credit for playing as well as they did to start with after all the events that took place during the week.

Agreed...still praying for the family and the team. I think Coach Petrino did an excellent job this week keeping the team together. We simply ran into a buzzsaw in Baton Rouge. Go Hogs!!!
Re: arkansas football (Skeeterman1)
While it was a tragedy, and i am still praying for that young man's family, the same people that are blaming the loss on the death are the same people that would have been saying"they were so motivated" if they would have won.
Re: arkansas football (barchief)
I'm not blaming it on that. And I wouldn't have said that's why they won. On the shortterm, those scenarios rarely "motivate". Next year after the grieving is over, yes they can use it as motivation. But, the mental fatigue something like that causes on the short term cannot be overcome by motivation. Anyone that uses that as an excuse has never been in a situation like that and does not understand. Yeah, the team can say they are using it as motivation, but it just cannot overcome the fatigue. I'm really shocked they were able to do as well as they did the first half.
Re: arkansas football (barchief)
I don't think anyone is using it as an excuse. Plain and simple LSU had the better team. God Bless the family and the team as they lay their son and friend to rest today. My prayers are with them all. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/praying.gif

Re: arkansas football (barchief)
I've always loved SEC football, and that includes Arkansas football. I will pull for Ark. unless they are playing LSU. I don't care for the character of the coach there, but then that's just me.
