The current Hotmaps Platinum card is a 16GB micro-SD card inside a SD card adaptor and is updateable.

Ok thanks Wayne P. So are you saying this one is not updateable just so I understand. thanks
Thank you Wayne P. for you expertise........... do yo know if the new one has more coverage or less I am assuming it is more?
The current issues are in REGIONS for the Hotmaps Premium and Hotmaps Platinum. Refer to the Navionics web site.
I can't advise for your particular needs since almost every state has a Leesburg.
A better current product is Navionics+ which comes with no maps. You choose what to download to the card from anywhere in the country including what the Gold edition covers. The max capacity is 2GB.
You get Navionics Nautical Charts and Sonar Charts, but not the extra stuff the Platinum has like 3D, Satellire Overlay, and Port Photos.
You can have a body of water in every state if you want and still have plenty of room for more.
Plus you can delete all you have downloaded and start over.
All new purchases include a year of Freshest Data updates.
It's not so much a feature DonnieG more so a consistency. You see it with some lakes and not on others when viewing SonarCharts.

I was hoping for a fix. I guess I can use my Garmin FHS v6 until Navionics catches up. No reason that a 6 year old Garmin map would be better.
Thanks for your info.
I bought my Navionics card in Dec 2013, so I don't have much time left to do updates.
if I have 2 navionics plat cards one has past its update timeframe and never got updated..(forgot), my new one I have updated it and have more time available....can I update my older platinum navionics card with the new "subscription"
Yes.
a older platinum map if expired will not update if a newer platinum card is purchased....tried it, keep wanting me to pay the update fee
Lykins, so sorry. Misunderstood. No, you're 100% correct. A new subscription covers only one card. I thought you were asking wether you could get your old card a new subscription. My bad.

Before I go out & buy a Nav+ card, will the download from Navionics website work on a Windows XP Professional based computor?
Yes it will but I will suggest that you use Google Chrome instead of an older Internet Explorer version.
I had so many problems on all kind of website, I switch to GC even if I was very reluctant specially with the Favorites that I like more on IE but now I'm at ease with GC and no more problem on any site.
I use Chrome as well on my MAC, Safari too.
