Can I buy single lakes instead of having to buy a whole new card? Why can't you add KY and TN to the Platinum south? It makes me mad I have to buy a different card for lakes like Guntersville/wheeler/wilson that are only 2 hrs from me when the rest of the TN river in on the East card.
Bassakwards, actually yes you can. There is a product called marine and lakes. its $99 and allows you to purchase just one state and get the same detail as Premium. it will also cover the border waters between the states.
Unfortunately, your question is a common one in different areas of the Country. No matter where we draw a cut off line, somebody gets upset. i thought about adding TN but then that means cutting off a different state, say Texas, then Texas will scream. We are working on some solutions.

pmnav12 Is there any difference between the old Lakes south iphone app and the new USA lakes app? Also, the Grand area of Truman Reservoir is very treacherous, is there any plans to get this area updated. The old S-2 card had this area mapped and I can't find one anywhere. Thanks!!!
pmnav12 I purchased a hotmaps premium last spring thinking the lake i fish would be on it as it is one of the larger lakes in the area and well fished. Anyway turns out the lake is not. I have the C6 sd card. I have not opened the package and was just reading this thread. Will i not be able to register and upgrade this for free as i have not had it a year. I didnt realize i was supose to register withing 60 days. Thanks for your time.

bryan: Main difference is the newer app is $10 and you can download anywere in the USA in fresh and saltwater. Gets freshest data daily updates if you redownload, community edit feature, navigation module and more in app features coming. Gran is on the newer charts but i beleive you are refering to a coule areas that data dropped off... yes there are plans to have that corrected. no time frame right now though but this year is the plan.

I just purchased the Android app and considering the Ipad app too. Also run the Platinum chips on my boat's HDS8's. The phone app has very little detail compared to the Platinum chips and I am trying to find out the level of detail on the Ipad app. Is is like the Platinum chips or more like the phone app. I can't really find a different lake list for the phone vs Ipad apps if there is any difference.
I loaded some old WP to the app and now it locks up every time I try to use it. I tried reinstalling it and it installed over the old app and problem still exist. Do I need to completely uninstall and just start over?
Update; I installed the new version and when the Freshest data is downloading it stops at 316MB -356 MB and hangs up.
Hey pmnav12, loaded tha navplaner on my new labtop everything with the charts come up, however could not add a waypoint or a route, what am I doing wrong ? Read the literature on it, when I go to the toolbar to select the above choices, they are not highlighted.

Goose: Ipad app and Platinum have the exact same data so not sure what you are seeing differently. only major difference would be amount of zoom in levbel and colored areas like creek channels, flooded timber, road beds, and of course sat overlay. I will tell you that coming VERY soon there will be some features on ipad that will be different from plotter. new technology stuff.
Jimmy: PM me your email and I'll get you to customer service. on the freshest data, how long are you waiting? often that last tidbit of info takes a while. it may be working and you just dont see it doning it. popular complaint and we are working on correcting that with more of a time bar or something simnilar.

Wally Andre, sorry no bar tools on the side. However I found what I was doing wrong, need to remove from panning in order to set a trail or a wpt.
The Lowrance Elite 7HDI is not listed on the compatabilty chart, will HotMaps Premium work on it?

Not sure who you spoke with down there but I was there the whole show. Some of the imagery is fairly current some of it is older, that is correct. 8 years I'd be kind of surprised by. I'm guessing you are primarily concerned with the backwater areas as we discussed. The good news, is that all of that will be updated with SonarCharts to one foot contours. Platinum will allow that so you did get the right chart for that. Gold cant do that. so you will still get the detail you are looking for. Just please register your chart within 60 days so when it does come out, you are ready.
Certainly never intended to mislead. let me know the area you are concerned on.

actually yes, sonarcharts goes down to one foot. thats the idea. As long as you can record sonar and have a GPS signal, it will work ANYWHERE. The other part is that this will force our engineers to current the NOAA land mass areas and give a better picture of that area as well.
Dont need sample photos just give me the area you are talking about. lat/long is fine. 1997 is more than 8 years. We didnt even have sat picutres for charts in 1997. send me lat/long please. only area I personally know of is off Islamorada and that isnt 8 years but is older and does need an update. I've run around Flamnigo and up in Whitewater Bay and Sahrk River with zero issues with sat overlay aside from a few curves so curious as to where, again lat/longs are fine.

It was a younger guy with darker hair. If you have any pictures from the booth I can point him out. lol
Content Key, Upper Harbor and most of the lower keys are all using old pictures.Open them up and then open Google Earth and compare them. You will find the picture you are using in the historic cache.

looken: You can use your card on the PC but need a product called Nav Planner or speak to Fugawi about what products they offer. They make a lot of planning tools. We will have a web app coming in about 4-6 months that will do what you want but is still in designing phases. The reason you cant zoom in on the viewer for Canada is the Canadian gov will not allow us to show charts online for free. they want us to charge to view any maps we have of Canada. Kind of goofy but thats what their law wants.
Am I the only one who is unable to see 1 foot contours in my elite 7? I have the 2013 premium card and I can see the smaller contours on my hds 9 when i insert the card into that unit. Do I need an update to see the smaller contours on my elite 7? Thanks in advance
Ruft: You should see all contourrs. You have the chart selection set as Navionics and not Lowrance correct? still having issues, shoot me a message.
To follow up on the Nav / Lowrance thread, I bought a new Premium S card, and it's in an HDS 8 Gen 1. The background color of the water, on the chart screen, is completely white, with no shading of the humps and ridges My other, older card showed the water as blue and shaded the shallower humps and such so that they were vey easy to see and follow the edges. I talked to Navionics and the person said it has to be a Lowrance problem. I talked to Lowrance the first time and was told to update software and check the safety depth settings. Did both and no luck, talked to Lowrance again and they said "The Navionics will only show water as white, that is their software doing that". I don't believe that for one second but I'm no expert. I will be back at the lake tomorrow, where my boat is, and need some help on what to try. I can't take screen shots but I can take photos - yes I'm a dummy. But this is real simple, the backgound color of the lake is all white, and after years of using Navionics cards, I've never seen this happen, and can't figure out how to turn it blue.
pmnav.......running a HDS8 Gen2 with Platinum +, the Central and South Florida one. I get the silly pink ducks on the screen, had anchors on the Gold that was on my LCX25C (have not tried the Gold on the HDS8 yet). I know there is no way to get rid of them on my HD version on my iPad, but how do I get them off the HDS8??
