Re: Wifes boss................ kinda long! (bigrich207)
In the mid 80's went through two bankruptcys' with a company I worked with. Watched the owner drink himself and the company into the ground. I had 7 w2s that year. He sobered up tried again and asked me to come back. I stayed with him another 12 years and then he started drinking again. I tried to talk with him but to no avail so I left and within a couple of months he was bankrupt again. Again I was starting from stratch. When I started this little business I decided I would do what I could to take care of my employess. It has been up and down for me and several times we go without so my employees make payroll or get bonuses or can take off to watch the kids play or something.
Now my employee is going into business on his own and will become my competetion. I wish him well but I don't think he know what he is getting himself into.

Guys I appreciate the kind words, and i reaize many of you are small busisness owners and to those that are i pray for ya'll everyday. I too work in asmall business myself as a farm manager. I fully understand what it is to run a business and try to take care of your employees, we will survive yes my wife does still make a decent salary and while we may have to change our life style somewhat we are in no wya the shape that some folks are in these days. That being said, all of this didnt have to happen, it's not about the economy it's pure and simple greed and trying to live beyond his means. Yes , if I had the money I have no doubt what soever that my wife could put him away in less than a year but thats not possible, I just will neve understand how a person who has the ability to have 2 great businesses can be so ignorant in thinking they can live outside of there income, but it happens all the time!

You know, I think it's funny that you guys are throwing a pity party for Dr's, yet this guys wife is enduring this, and you tell him to pound sand.

He was bitching because her idiot boss ran the place like a friggin idiot, not cutting back on how he spent business money, and likely pulling company money to pay for personal issues.
The result? Driving the business into the ground at the peril of people who depend on competent managers to keep them working.
May Karma come back to all the managers like this, and they lose their homes, and everything else like so many other hard working Americans have.</td></tr></table>
Do you know his wife? His wife's boss? Ever seen their business records or EOY reports?

Re: Wifes boss................ kinda long! (bigrich207)
sorry to hear this...my wife lost her job between Christmas and the New Year...that is 100% lost income from her, she did not have a company car, but she had our only health insurance which is now gone. Tough to be without insurance and her income when we have two little ones...but life will go on and we will do what we need to do to make it though. Keep a positive attitude and look ahead and not behind...whats done is done...pull up the boot straps and move forward http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

Nope.
But I think it's safe to say the OP knows more than we do. Since he is one of us, I'll take his word for it. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
Re: Wifes boss................ kinda long! (Lockon)
I once had a boss (company owner) who was proud of the fact that he never layed anybody off. What he did was harrass an employee (verbal abuse) that he wanted to go away, until the employee quit. The reason was, that he would get a refund from the State of his unemployment taxes. Nice guy, huh? FYI, I worked until the company closed down, which I was rather happy to see! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/popcorn.gif
