I'd rather see Spagnuolo leave. He replaced the defensive line and linebacker coaches for next year. Those were his strongest assets on defense last two years. If they don't do something to fix the defensive backs they will not win the SB again. His time is over get some new blood in there.

Surprised no one has mentioned how well Matt Nagy panned out as a HC after being regarded as a 'brilliant' offensive OC under Reid. It's the NFL. If you can win, you're in. I don't think Bieniemy's past transgressions, race, or interview ability have anything to do with the lack of legit interest as HC candidate. Like the Belichik coaching tree that has been remarkably unsuccessful for so many teams, Reid runs the show and his staff merely communicate his vision to their respective units.

It is also very possible that Bieniemy and the Chiefs have discussed succession scenarios, as there likely is not a better fit with their current offense to take over if/when Reid does step away. He's getting up there in age, and his personal tragedies have most certainly taken a toll.

Here are the dolphin coaches over the last several years with the years they coached. I guess Adam Gase should be really upset, he took them to the playoffs one year and still got canned after 3 years. Still think your argument holds water?

Hope he stays with the chiefs till Andy retires....then we will see what he is made of.
