Personally I like it, but river and/or tidal fishing is not a "condition". It's a totally different type of bass fishing than 95% of the federation members do. Yes, you can go there and spend 2 days 3 miles either side of the landing, but thats not really how this place is fished.
I ask again if its so great, why are so few people going? Gaston got a good crowd...so did Kerr, but the Chowan and now this have both been busts.
Now with the economy as it is the Federation should also be working to make the event as central and affordable to all the clubs as possible.
The Federation will suffer if they continue to hold events where only a very select few want or can afford to go.
Just my opinion Chris...hope you all have fun and catch fish.

I know this is the push that the Federation is trying to make. Our club is so sure that after the reup's are done this year, they will combine the Northeast and Southeast region into one which will eliminate at least one year of having to fish an Albemarle Sound river. That and a few other reasons is why our club will not be reuping with TBF this year. If they, TBF, does do this I believe a lot more eastern clubs will do the same, then you boys from the west can fish your side of the state every year, and that is what you want anyway. Our eastern money must not be as green as the other divisions. Enough said. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/USA1.gif
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (NC Buck)
You miss the point Buck....the state tournaments need to be held where it is economically feasible for as many people to attend as possible....Plymouth is not.
I have no idea what the federation wants or not...I see there are about 10 clus in the NE region. Not sure about the SE as you don't seem to post on the state web site, and the SE region site appears to be gone...if you have the same then why not make it one region? they would all be about equal then.

If they do combine the two regions I'm pretty sure our club will not be resigning this fall. We left the SE region to get away from their BS and I don't plan on attending any meetings with them involved. If the club decides to re-up I will be stepping down as president.
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (PATRO)
Our club is in the NE federation and also heard about the joining of ne and se. We are not thrilled and we also may leave the TBF. A rep from bass is coming to speak with us about joining them. We are looking for a trail that fishes down east and Kerr lake down.
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (bass boss)
Let me know how that goes for your club Eric, we might be interested as well.
Is this the one that Chuck Murray runs?
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (PATRO)
I have no clue. Were is your club out of? Ours is out of Wilson. Maybe your club and our club could join and start a new chapter or something so we could have good turnouts.
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (bass boss)
We are in Greenville.
Our club name is Pitt Co. Bassmasters.
I don't know what we will do but when the topic of merging was brought up last year most of my guys had a disgusted look on their face. I guess time will tell but I personally will step down if the club chooses to stay in the Federation if there is a merge.
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (PATRO)
If there is a merger, I'm pretty sure our club will stop fishing...my club has been in the NE for as long as I can remember, would like it to stay that way. I realize sometimes things change, but why would you make a change to the NE/SE federation, when they already have low participation, that will surely cause even more people to not fish?

Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (chris c)
Hey Eric, Let us know how it goes with the BASS representative. I am sure our club, Elizabeth City Bassmasters, would like to hear about what BASS will be offering especially now that BASS is not owned by ESPN. But for 2011 we will be an unaffiliated club.
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (NC Buck)
We are in NC BASS ferderation aslo, and I know Chuck very well....feel free to contact me with info about them/him.

Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (SteveDyer)
Major flooding here, from what I heard, Sportsmans got beat up pretty bad last night. I couldn't see this morning on my way to work, but hear that the owners truck and carport got smashed by a tree. The parking lot is flooded right now, and looks like some folks are stuck in the hotel because they cant get out of the parking lot. I'm down the road at the HI Exp, don't know what it was, but it sounded like a mini tornado came through at 10:30 last night. A couple of guys almost lost their covers in the wind. One guy's uncovered rig was pumping water like crazy into another uncovered rig.....Hate it for the boats, but it was a bit comical to see that at 5 AM.
Best of luck to anyone. Wasted practice day for most I would imagine.
The river is up I would guess at least 18" over the last couple of days.
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (Fishing Addict)
Talked to guys in the tackle shop this a.m. that stayed at the Sportsman Inn...they said the tornado didn't do any major damage, but scared the hell out of them. Couple of trees uprooted, one fell on a van, another on a boat. Said the docks at the ramp were under water, you had to wade out on the docks to get to your boat. From what I understand, I guess the tx is going out of the dock at the police station. I would expect water to get higher as time goes by. Guys, be careful if you go up from Plymouth. There is a ton of stuff in the water that won't be visible, and I am sure some logs have floated out. Good luck this weekend.
Chris
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (chris c)
Bet the guys who did get out today got a little wet.
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (chris c)
I totally agree chris, all of us should be more well rounded in lakes and rivers..
Re: NC STATE TBF TOUR IN PLYMOUTH?? (PATRO)
hmm, you guys seem to know more about this merger thing than the directors do ,as iam the director for the se region. Maybe you all should get the facts before making a bunch of assumptions and posting them publicly.... Just fyi
