I can confirm that you can transfer the ACL files from one card to another. That being said I have a Africa ZLC and a Autochart Pro Europe cards. I copied the ac files from one (my old ZLC) to the other (my new ACZLC in the ACPro box) and they both had the ACL map on it!! Not sure if this is specific to Africa but it seems to work perfect.

I addition I recorded sonar recordings on my ONix and simultaneously recorded AC live and it worked out perfect.

I did have one issue though and it was doing the Lakemaster update to the ZLC.

Error code " The new area didn't fit into the custom map. See the getting started guide for instructions on how to create a custom map"" Any one have suggestions as those instructions are very confusing bearing in mind that I have a Europe ACPro and Card to match and not a North America Card??

Any help from the pros would be appreciated.

On you ZeroLins SD card, rename your AC folder, to AC1. Then create a new folder titled AC.
And try it again in AutoChart Pro.

No That didnt work same error!!

Which card are you trying it on? It probably will not work on the Europe ZLC. If you have an Africa ZLC, it should work on there. Otherwise, you'll have to call Humminbird. I'm out of ideas.

I contacted HB and they solved the problem. I had to delete some folders and recreate them and it worked.
I also experimented with the AC Live folders. You can definitely transfer the files to another card and the map appears on the other card. The best way to do it is take the one card and copy the AC And acdata folder in to a folder AC Folder 1 and the other card onto ACFolder 2. You then create an additional folder and copy the entire ac and ac data folders into the 3rd "joint "folder select copy and replace all folders and then copy those folders to both cards and they will have the same maps on them!! If that makes any sense!!

Not sure if I'm making sense of your explanation of copying and pasting.

I get that you have two Zeroline cards, lets call them ZLC#1 and ZLC#2.
ZLC#1 is the card you used to create your AutoChart Live Map on.
ZLC#2 is the card you want to copy your map to.

I tried reading your post several times, and cannot understand from which card you copy which folders from, and which card you're saying to copy and paste them to. Could you try to do a better job of explaining it?

Sounds like you are merging the mapping on 2 different Autochart Live ZLC's?

Yes, but I can't follow his process very well for copying/pasting folders. Confused as to which folders are copied from which card, and how they're pasted together. Just need a clearer description of that process, so others are able to easily duplicate his copy method.

1 Create a folder for each Zero line card (I have a few)on your pc
2 Create a common folder that you will copy all the information to .
3 Copy all Ac Data from each card to each folder allocated to the respective card (each card has one folder that you copy to dont mix and cross copy)
4 Once you have copied all the card information to each folder you then copy the entire folder to The common folder Ac Data and copy and replace . ( so you have all the AC Data folders in one folder.
5 Insert any Zeroline card and copy all the data into the AC Data folder of ZLC from the common folder ACdata file.
6 Insert ZLC into Humminbird Onix and zoom into area that you know has AClive data and it should work.

Is that more clear.
I have 3 ZLC and just copied all info to all of them and they all have the same info. I have even shared info with friends.

Tested and you can record sonar data and run AutoChart live simultaneously. This is the best solution to use both products and not have to map a lake twice.

Just out of interest the definition between the AClive and the Map you created at the same time is very different. The AClive has more definition to the map than the Map created in AC Pro. anyone know why??

Ok so I am new to all of this autochart business so I have a few questions. I have ordered a new helix 10 SI on my new boat that I will be using to map all my home lakes since there are no maps available for them. I have purchased a lakemaster chip as well as a zerolines chip for the helix that I plan on running at the same time. I have read through this thread and from what I understand the autochart live maps that I create using the helix 10 are only available to view on that unit correct? If i want to use these maps on another unit say my 386 ice I would have to get another zero lines card and record the sonar track on one card as well as the autochart live data on the second card and use that card to create a map using the autochart PC then save the newly created map back to that card to use in my ice fishing unit. Does this sound correct? This would make it impossible to keep my lakemaster chip in while doing this which I am not crazy about not to mention having to buy the autochart pc. Also if I map an area will there be depth numbers on this map? I know it is still usable with the ipilot link system so it knows how deep it is but why wouldn't it be displayed? Can you still highlight a depth area with the autochart live maps? I'm sure I will have more questions once I start using it but this will get me started. Thanks

Why would you buy the Lakemaster Chip if it doesn't have any of your lakes on it? That'd be a waste of money.

Maps created with AutoChart Live are only readable on other units with AutoChart Live (Helix 9, 10, Onix, Ion).

So, if you're wanting to create your own maps that can be read on non-AutoChart Live units (like your 386 unit), than you'll probably want to use AutoChart on your PC to create maps.

You can use ONE ZeroLines SD card for both AutoChart Live maps and AutoChart PC maps.

Here's what I would do if I were you.
I would buy AutoChart Pro. That would include 1 zerolines sd card, which is all you need.
You could create maps with AutoChart Live when running your Helix 10, but be sure to save sonar recordings or humminbird tracks at the same time, so that you can import those into AutoChart on your computer. That way, you'll have files that you can import into AutoChart on your computer, to create maps that you can use on any unit. They should be about the same as your AutoChart Live map.

Sorry for the confusion. I bought the lakemaster chip because it has a lot of the lakes that I travel to on them just not my home waters. So for my home waters I will have to map them all using the autochart Live with the helix 10. I don't really foresee me using the maps in anything other than my helix but it would be nice to have the capability to use it in my 386 if I felt the need.

Here is my question since I already have a zero lines card but not the autochart for the PC can I just save both the autochart live maps and the sonar readings to the zero lines card that I already have then whenever I buy the program for the PC I can import all of the sonar recordings off of that card and create the maps without having to map it again? If I do this how much faster will it fill up my zero lines card? Also once I buy either version of the PC program it will come with another zero lines card so once I have that can I cut and paste all of the sonar recordings on to that card to free up space on the original card? If so what kind of files will they be? If that works I would essentially have one zero lines card with all of the autochart live maps and one with all of the autochart maps created off of the computer.

Say I am on my home waters (so the lakemaster is useless) once I buy the pc program so I would have 2 zero lines cards, can I have the autochart live maps saving to ZL card #1 and the sonar recordings saving to ZL card #2? Or do they have to be saving to the same card?

One other question is will the autochart live maps display depth numbers?

You cannot import the maps from Autochart Live into the Autochart PC product ..... That is why camohunter is recommending you record your raw sonar data to a SD card at the same time you are making your Autochart Live map......You CAN use the raw data in the PC product to create a map, but not an Autochart Live map.

Just to add if you record AC live to a unit and insert a ZL card later the data will download to the ZL card and remove itself from the unit. If you want the data on that unit again it will you will either have to rerecord it to the unit or use the ZL card.

Do you need the autochart pro program for autochart live? Or just the zeroline sd card? I ordered two helix 12 units and ordered the auto chart pro program. My gut says I don't need it now.

Unless you need bottom hardness or SI overlay, you don't need the AutoChart Pro with the Helix series, will just add to the complications. You will only need 2 zero line cards and then record and copy/paste the folders as previously described.

I have both and use both only because I still have the core series on my kayak and the minimum AutoChart live unit would be the Helix 9 and I wouldn't call that a kayak friendly size.

Tried making my first live auto chart today with helix 10di. Depthfinder was reading between 6 and 10 feet but map was made in ranges of 10' to 30'. Depth offset was at zero. Had to set it to -16 to get right in the depth i was in at that time but the variations were still wayyyy off. Any ideas?
