I remember Rick Clunn telling a story of finding him up a river arm somewhere out of gas. During practice for a big event. He had to hike somewhere to get it, just enough to get him home. But instead, he headed the opposite direction. Clunn said he had never seen someone that lived in the now fishing like Dudley did. Or at least that's what I remember him saying.

Hey fellas, new user first post.

I spent a day fishing with Dudley a few years back, talking about a lot of things fishing and non-fishing related. In defense of him, as others have said it's not possible to know a persons financial situation - he has a lot of investments and probably doesn't need to fish to pay the bills. He does admit to his mistakes and failures but people can get their acts together and learn their lessons. He also is a big-time Christian for those of you that care, he grilled me for an hour on my bible knowledge and I was blow away how passionate he is. He also invites neighbors and kids to come onto his property to fish his pond, and we spent the last half hour of the trip catching bluegills so he could stock it for them.

Cocky for sure and a bit of a blowhard, but seems to have his act together. I wouldn't speculate anything on his finances based on what you see in the media. But who knows.
