Seriously the HP is there to turn a 27, remember if you just get it to the 55-5700 rpm range, that is where peak HP is Produced even if it can wind to 6300
Another thought is the Power Poles, at high lift angles do the bases of them ever get down to the surface of the water to produce drag? I dont know ive never had them.
I don't think the poles drag any, you would be able to see water spraying up from them, I think it is the prop, going to try the other two I have and maybe let Mark work the Fury that is on the rig now.

i thought it was my prop too... my 2011 is the exact same boat as u with the powerpoles. iwould run 68-70 tourney load w a partner. i put the shims in and in florida ran 75 was me and partner with full tanks and loaded to the hilt with tackle. try the shims first. i would never hav thought that would work like that unless i did it
I think my boat has enough lift, if different wheels won't help I will try the shims, or trade engine for a 3ooxs, lol.

Thats exactly the same speeds I am gettiing on my 2011 HP. But, I just sent a 26 Fury to Mark Propellers, Ill let you know how it goes.
I bet the 27 trophy will wake it up .Just remember all the weight and extra drag from all the equipment isn't free from scrubbing off speed.. Of course... I go to Church there at the Abbey, did you ever fish in the lakes the Abbey had? Thats where I grew up actually, about a mile past those lakes.
Oh yea, they also had a big camp at Lake Dardenelle (sp) , we spent a lot of time there and in the mountains, I had two uncles and a couple of cousins who were priest there, one of my uncles took care of all the cattle and farming, he would take me fishing in their lakes, still have one uncle and a couple relatives there now.

trim extenders are a cheap way of testing i would not recomend running them very long they will push the mounting bracket out past the safepoint. you could have serious consequences with that.if you pickup lift and speed with a set then install the wedges for permanent use. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

It is a great school, unfortunately I did not get to graduate from there, my Dad got really sick and I came home to help out around the house, I did go to camp there several years and only my freshman year of high school.
