Re: New Blazer Model Pics (blair)
They have a funny look to the casting deck below whats all that dead space under the deck is that a extension to the front deck.. on a S boat. looks very thin.. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/doh.gif
Re: New Blazer Model Pics (Fear-This)
That is a deck extension........perfect for net storage during tourneys, also the non-boater has a place to store his gear instead of on the floor in the way..you can check out Lou's pics here on the Stroker page w/o the deck extension on.......it is removable...thin? What the deck? nope........Chub builds his boats for 2 "big" fishing guys........ http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Re: New Blazer Model Pics (blair)
I think it's great that Keith and the guys are offering options........many
Blazer owners may like this offering of a wider deck.......the lighter hull
would also be great to see.........the smaller builders set themselves
apart by being pro-active ........especially in these tough times..... http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif
Re: New Blazer Model Pics (blair)
Never seen but one on Kerr Lake Nc always thought they look cool never able to get into one loved to. Re: New Blazer Model Pics (brandall)
Light weight Blazer hulls. I have an acquaintance from another life that is manager for a company that manufactures carbon fiber parts for the aircraft industry and open wheel race car chassis manufacturers. If you really want a 400 lb. Blazer hull, it only requires $ 185-200M for manufacturing/processing equipment and $16-18M material per hull. Add in required engineering, labor & finishing materials. The price of a 400 lb carbon fiber hull is only $35-38M. Throw in $24-26M for a for real bad ass light weight 3.5 liter outboard. Add in electronics, t-motor, batteries, feather weight upholstered seats.
You then have a for real, 1,100 lb. - 100 mph plus, everyday, tournament ready bass boat for a mere $85-90M. Oh, repairs to the carbon fiber hull are $200-275. per hour.
Warranty on carbon fiber parts is -0-.
Now convince Keith that you are really serious about a bad ass go fast bass boat and there is a viable market. Going fast only costs money!

Re: New Blazer Model Pics (BEEZER)
...So let me get this correct??? Stroker, Allison, and Bullet bass boats cost 85-90 million a piece??? http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif Maybe Im confused here since you came out of left field with these ridiculous statements but dont stroker bass boats hit well into the 100's with being a wide body boat and 21 foot long??? And if I remember right they use normal materials that are available to all boat manufacturers. All I am asking for is a boat to finally get the respect that all of Blazer guys deserve since we know we have a boat that performs better than most of the cookie cutters...Keith, all I am asking for is a little lighter boat that would make it easier for us Blazer guys to get some more speed out of our baby's, and maybe crack into the top three...If I am dreaming Keith so be it...
Re: New Blazer Model Pics (BlaznbyU)
Ok, here is the deal on making one lighter, check the warranties of the other rigs, as most do not have much of a warranty. I am not sure about the Allison, but I do know that Stroker and Bullet do not offer a Lifetime Warranty like Blazer. Stroker and Bullet's warranty is 5 years on a standard hull, and none on a comp. I have not heard of any problems with the other 3, I am sure that there is as all do, so maybe warranty is not a big deal to some.
Now the biggest difference in making one lighter: Allison, Bullet, and Stroker are all hand laid boats, and the Blazer is built with a chopper gun. Hand laid hulls are easier to control the resin which in turns adds weight and this is harder to do with a chopper gun built boat. Most all of the major boat manufacturers build boats with a chopper gun. I would love to see Blazer offer all our their bass boats with the option to be hand laid, as some of the bay boats already are, but this would add a good bit of labor cost to the boat. Would I spend the money, YES.
Re: New Blazer Model Pics (Rebel1)
By the way, I am sure that Arthur is talking about the start up cost to manufacture the parts and a build a boat that is all carbon fiber. Like the sign at Jaco's says "Speed cost, how fast you want to go?"
Re: New Blazer Model Pics (Rebel1)
Wonder what all brands use chopper guns. Some put right on their hull, "Hand Laid Hull".
Wide boats can be made to run fast, so don't shoot this boat down just yet. The new 201 Evolution from Stratos is wider than the 201 XL, has different storage layout, etc. and it's actually faster than the 201. Design has as much to do with speed as weight.
Blazer is an excellent boat for it's niche. Would hate to see them hurt the company by going after a crowded market. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/ohwell.gif
Re: New Blazer Model Pics (1niceStratos)
Just because it says "hand laid hull" on a sticker, does not mean they hand lay the whole boat like Bullet, Allison and Stroker. It takes way to much time to build a boat this way.
Re: New Blazer Model Pics (Rebel1)
I know. I was just http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/stirthepot.gif . It will be interesting to see how this wide boat performs versus the regular Blazer lineup.
Re: New Blazer Model Pics (1niceStratos)
Jason, I drove the Evo/250 ETEC and its a great hull/boat, Im not sure on the speed yet, the prop was buried and no setup had been done on it yet. I will say it made me add it to the list of maybes for the next boat.
