I would have thought that deceiving your wife, and feeling that you have to lie to her and hide things from her, would be a pretty bad thing to have to do for a marriage. If she's so bad that you can't tell her you bought something, why do you bother living with her. Set her free so she can go out to find a nice honest person who is willing to share his life with her. I suppose on the other hand this could be one of those posts where a bloke is pretending he's the boss and wanting to brag about his purchases, when he really spent the last few weeks pleading and begging his poor wife for permission to spend some money, but didn't want the boys on the fishing chat site to know he really doesn't have any balls. That, also would be pretty sad.
