Welcome Tommy. There's plenty fishin near slidell. Launch by the train station and fish bayou bonfouca and liberty. No biggins, but plenty to pull on your line. Course there's the lower pearl by hwy 90, also launch by lock 1 on the pearl up in hickory. I don't think i'd try davis landing with that rig of yours.
