Re: CHEAP ROD WRAPS... (Basshuntr)
Ok so I went to Wally World and picked up a pack of the Wilson Tennis racket handle wraps, also 1 sleeve they had for the handles just to try and Bling out my combo.. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/pimp2.gif ...came out awesome for the money!!....one question, what is the little yellow round piece in the pack for?
The Blue is the sleeve I mentioned.....then I wrapped it with the black handle grip wrap....I like the outcome of it, and it actually feels better to hold!

Those little rubber peices are string dampeners for your tennis racket. Steve

Anyone tried fishing it in the Rain? Do we have to re-wrap it since I don't think they are WaterProof http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif

I have fished in the rain a lot...I have used these for years and they last me for about three years before needing to be changed. Steve
Re: CHEAP ROD WRAPS... (Longrodder)
10-4 Been wrapping with Wally tennis wraps for a year now.. use different colors for jig and fast bait rods... absolutely no reason not to do this... change wraps every 2-3 years... what a deal!

Re: CHEAP ROD WRAPS... (Basshuntr)
Actually, I like the baseball bat wraps, they are much softer and seem to last longer especially if they get wet a lot. I discovered these when Academy was out of Tennis racket wraps I had been using. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif

Re: CHEAP ROD WRAPS... (Longrodder)
I went with the colored gause tape for tennis raquets. It is color coordinated, and you can do a bunch of rods for about $3. It is slightly tacky to hold it in place, and gives an awesome grip even when wet. Best part is it comes off easy with no residue and is easily replaceable as it gets all scummed up from sweat, fish slime, scent stuff,...etc.
