100% rookie mistake by the sales person and shame on the dealer for not training the new salesperson properly. With that said, I think you’d be nuts to get into a Skeeter over this. This really has nothing to do with Phoenix at all

Final Update: I did talk to Jeff at Phoenix, he was very understanding of the situation and at the end of the day I ultimately want to be in a Phoenix and my frustrations have been with the dealer. I do not plan on doing business with the dealer after picking up the boat-but I do believe in the Phoenix brand and look forward to receiving the boat.
Did he promise a date for the completion of your boat?
Yep
Well, if everything goes according to plan. Which hopefully it does. Very pleasant phone call.
I ordered new from Phoenix through my local dealer on 1/18/25. Estimate was 4-6 weeks. Rolling on 10 weeks now and was told likely another 2 weeks. However, I expected 10-12 weeks total based on what I read online. My guess is that dealers quote the "time to build " which is much less that the overall time from order to delivery. Kind of bogus but whatever, gives me time to prepare my gear/insurance/etc. Only issue is the increase in interest rates here lately.
I can't for the life of me think why a dealer would suggest unrealistic times unless they are clueless or desparate. Good thing you did your homework. The last week or two is a logistics delivery unknown in the equation. I had Phoenix say it would be delivered in the next 8 business days then it showed up at the dealer the next day. Just not an exact science is what I take away.
I was at a dealership on 1/21. Manager called Phoenix because I had some color questions. That person at Phoenix said April 1 if you order that day. If my Math is correct that is 10 weeks.
I ordered week of Feb. 10 so I'm hoping for mid April
There were a few of us in 2022 expecting 12-14 weeks for the 919s, and ended up waiting 6 months thanks to Mercury not pushing out the 225s. Don’t think the dealer or Phoenix saw that coming. That’s different from blatantly, or ignorantly, lying though.
Had a lot of issues with my dealership that I relayed to Pheonix as well. I can't remember them all, but some of the big ones;
They pulled parts/pieces off my boat to get other boats out the door (replaced Ultrex 360 w/ universal 360, powerpole charge went to somebody else, batteries came in...then were mysteriously out of stock)
They did a beyond terrible job at wiring, which I ended up tearing it all out and redoing in the following winter (which fixed so many issues it's not funny)
Nothing was tightened down, I can't even begin to tell you how many things I had to tighten the first week of running it. PowerPoles were loose enough that I could have unthreaded by hand.
Unclipped zip ties EVERYWHERE. Not a big deal, but it's just shoddy.
Couldn’t of been more happier with my dealer. Drove three hours just because they are that good. Dennis at ozawkie marine was awesome
I believe I know the dealer. They have good reputation. Sounds like a training issue, things happen.
When I bought my boat several years ago, my dealer/salesman called Phoenix delivery and chewed them out for sending mine and others on the same truck in a rain storm.
My dealer drove 6 hours to deliver the boat to me. We did the paperwork in front of a bank notary. Easy peasy!
