Went on the web page last nite, Mine will be here in a bit, Several weeks.
Stopped by my local dealer Monday to see if they had them, Yes they said, They would not give them to me. service writer said they had to install them, Asked if I wanted to make an appointment, I said ok if they could install them while I waited, He said he couldn't say for sure. I told him I aint leaving my boat for them to put two stickers on the motor.
Anyone have a part number for the vents and V8 decal? Thanks!
Yes- though it's probably best to wait for the letter as it has specific instructions (and is the means by which availability can be controlled).
Additionally, if not ordered/handled per the Consumer Letter (or by an Authorized Dealer) they're probably not paying for them.
V8 Bezel: 8M0219155
V8 Decal: 8M0214842
Rhonda keeps these in stock- see her post, pinned at the top of the Forum.
Why are Canadian customers required to have a dealer do this installation when US customers can have it shipped to their door and do the install themselves.
It's either that, or common-sense prevailed. Whole idea of a US Federal Boating Safety Act Recall that's completed by the consumer is a bit disturbing. I've heard comments that it's as much about marketing as anything (hypothetically speaking, of course- a direct mail campaign with better than 50% odds that a couple hundred thousand consumers will visit a particular website you're wanting to market).
I've been trying for the past week on both my cell phone and computer to go to the address they gave me on my letter and it always gives a 404 error on the website. Is there something I'm missing
Nevermind. Apparently the capitalization is required in the link address
Mine came in a week,
Yes, every character is critical.
Surprised dealers didn't plan to have some on hand so they could take care of this for their customers.
The website thing will be a sore-spot with many dealers, though.
Interesting that I just took delivery of my new Phoenix with 250HP Merc and I still got this recall letter?
Huh….. I have a 2019 and have not received a letter yet
Does it have the new part??
What is your manufacture date?
Very possible it was built before.
Now that production has caught up to sales--- you may start seeing motors that were built one to several years before the new boat. Unlike boat makers the engines don't have the same rules about year designation.
