Not yet. Just filters and such so far. Was planning on the mod Rich did with the electric lift pump this winter but was mainly wondering if the stock lp pumps would be causing my situation. Once it revs up and I'm on plane it runs just fine. Just that initial hesitation before the rpms come up.
(((I don't know your motor.))) Knowing what I do know I would really suspect not. A weak pump would most likely be able to keep up during idle times and beginning of take off. But tend to lean out the further you run.
I would start in the area of a TPS if fuel injected or accelerator pump if carbureted.
I did this mod on my OX66 and then only had it out a few times before the boat went in for surgery, been off the water ever since. I want to say I had some hesitation issues as well and this mod fixed it. At the time, it also smoked to beat the band and that was greatly reduced afterward. I think the thought is that the diaphragms in the LP pumps leaking can result in flooding to a degree, and with any motor that floods at idle, once you get that extra fuel blown through they pick up and go. Makes sense to me anyway. But as I said, my memory could be tricking me, it's been quite a while since I ran the boat and we only ran it a few times after the electric pump mod.

What kind of fuel line are you guys using? Is it worth it to change out all the line to the ethonal resistant line? And a big thank you to Rich for helping me with this!
2002 200HP VMAX OX66--sending injectors to Rich Z next month for their first cleaning/adjustment. Considering doing the electric fuel pump conversion while it's apart. Anybody have any regrets?

No regrets, I used 1/2" aluminum bar stock and just drilled 2 holes in the bar. Rounded the ends and it looks great. may have been 3/8" also, whatever fit the best. I did get longer bolts for the bars. Spent more time wiring the pump than anything. 2+ years and no issues. CJ
I used the aluminum stock too and fashioned them the same way. Placed them between the gasket and the fuel pump as I didn’t buy longer bolts. Just left the pumps where they are. Plugged them off, just in case I needed them in the future.
½" seems a bit overkill to me. I just finished some out of ⅛" stock. Should be plenty.Quote:

That is 1/8" X 1" or so FLAT stock. Bar stock is only 1/2" x 1/2" square. Looks good! You should get a long service life out of the install. CJQuote:

Hello I have a question about the Holley pumps the 712-801-1 is the Marine version with the over flow return nipple that has to be capped, the 12-801-1 is the street version with no return nipple so can a guy use the street version? I've looked at all the specs between them and they seem the same other than the over flow nipple just a thought since I ordered the street and not the Marine lol Thanks
I don’t see a need for the marine pump since we don’t use the return loop. I am planning on the street version.
Well after so many successful installations I’m going to do this on my 26 mako twin 2001 Yamaha OX66 225 motors have all the stuff just waiting for the rain here in Florida to stop.
