I'm not sure that having a preference for marijuana and mushrooms over heroin, fentanyl, or oxycodone is a positive. That's almost like being allowed to choose your method of execution - ideally one should not desire any of these substances.

It’s silly to think Weed doesn’t have negative side effects, its even more silly to think alcohol doesn’t have just as many lol.
I love how some of these people on here believe everything big pharma tells them...haha...then in the commercials the side effects are cancer, strokes, death, etc... Same ones that blindly took the jab. Make it make sense...
One thing I think you are missing about Big Pharma is that they have everything to gain in the federal legalization of cannabis, because with the help of "common sense regulation" by government, they will be the ones with control over the production, distribution, retail of, and profit from it.
To say they do not want it legalized because it solves problems that their other drugs are supposed to solve, is plain incorrect. I can assure you they will not care if you treat your anxiety with Prozac, or you treat it with their marijuana and it's derivatives.
Yes, in a Utopia, no one would have diseases, injuries or afflictions. However, people are going to use drugs - both medically and recreationally. With this being a given, would you not prefer people to be hopped up on pot instead of pain pills, heroin, fentanyl?
That is an interesting statement - the person on here who advocates against the recreational use of drugs is the person who has no idea what they are talking about??? Please don't try and explain that to me. BTW, my father was an MD (Pathologist/Coroner), my older sister an MD (Pediatrician) married to a Pharmacist, and my older brother was the administrator at a very large VA Hospital here where about 50% of their patients are being treated for substance abuse. I think I have a very thorough understanding about the dangers of using drugs.
I will agree that pot is a better choice than hard drugs, and it has proven to have some beneficial properties for people with certain medical conditions. I will stick to my assertion that not using any recreational drugs is a smarter decision. Unfortunately, we have millions of people with the desire to smoke, snort, or inject something into their bodies and we are in fact the root cause of the drug epidemic in this country. Everyone wants to blame the Chinese or the Mexican drug cartels but Americans are the ones buying this shit.
Very well said. I don't get it either. People argue about this being better than that and that being worse than this, because in their minds not using ANYTHING isn't an option. It's always amazed me how many people would never entertain the idea of not having a habit, so they just try to argue against whatever it is they don't use to justify their drug of choice. Oklahoma's "medical marijuana" law is an absolute joke. Anybody, and I mean ANYBODY, can get a weed card. I know a ton of people with cards and none of them have epilepsy, glaucoma, or whatever else it's shown to help. They all used "anxiety" as their reason for needing a card. In all reality Oklahoma has legal recreational marijuana.
