New to me 84 Comanchee 320 v Mec 115 6 cylinder. trim down woks on the throttle handle and the traile switch also on the throttle works as well but not the up on the trim switch. Trim switch on bow works fine up or down. Any suggestions??? figured it's probably a bad switch on the throttle handle but unsure. First non tiller outboard i've ever had any help is appreciated. Thank you
I had a similar issue a few years back. I have an 05 model with Yamaha. My throttle switch was working "spotty". Turned out to be corrosion on the switch contacts. I replaced the thumb switch and no more issues. All of my other trim locations worked (on motor and bow) so i bought the switch. Guess i could have cleaned it but i went ahead and replaced it. Sounds like you could have a similar issue in that switch.
If the "up" works at different locations chances are it's the switch on the handle or the "up" lead coming out. The "down" works on the handle so you know you have power going to the handle switch.
