Indian rocks beach March 2011 lookin to fish

Heading down to Indian rocks beach for spring break with the wife and kids. I dont think I will bring the boat this time. Ended up being a real P.I.T.A. when we went to Amelia Island in July. I want to bring some rods and do some bank fishing ect. I would also like to try some deep sea fishing if you guys know of any good deals. Let me know if you think it would be a mistake to leave the boat at home. My buddy who lived down there for years said it gets very windy at that time and I might not want to even go out. I checked out renting a boat, but I dont feel it is worth spending 3-400 per day to rent a small boat. Can you guys recommend any places to fish, or any deals on renting a boat that would be reasonable. Any help would be great. Thanks
