Amsoil?
I was looking at oil for my 05 HO and ran across Amsoil. Have any of you had any experience with the Amsoil HP for outboards? If so, how compariable is it to the XD100 that BRP has?
Main reason is its about 10 dollars cheaper and I personally have not heard anything bad about it.
Thanks in advance.

No pot stirring from me, your ride your choice all we recommend is BRP oils and additives. There are good alternatives out there but they don't sign my check http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/wink.gif .

Thanks for the fast response. I will post in the main board and see if anyone has experience there.
Thanks

Re: Amsoil? (champ188)
I would say if your motor is still covered by BRP warranty you should at least stick with a TCW-III rated oil, or a BRP product like XD-100. It could cause some heart burn if you have a claim and are not running a TCW-III oil. JMO The last time I looked at Amzoil it was not TCW-III rated. But that does not make it a bad product.

Re: Amsoil? (GaryL)
I have heard several claims of a gritty residue with using it.
If you want a cheaper alternative, use pennzoil synthetic. I use penn semi-synthetic, which is supposed to be merc oil. So far I haven't had any issues with it. It even seems like carbon buildup with it is fairly low.
