Fund raiser for cancer patient
I have a friend that has a little girl with cancer. They have to drive her to Atlanta for Chemo and have a hard time making the bills. One has to be home with her every day. Is there anyway we can get together a fund raising tournament at Lake Eaufala for her? I know her parents would appreciate it. I've never done anything like this before so I am open to any input.

I'll make a suggestion. In most cases it is hard to raise much of any money doing a benefit tournament because there is still a payout in most cases. I would recommend seeking donations and doing a raffle. Just my personal opinion from a few past experiences.

if you decide to do the tournament or get one together, let me know when and where. i might be able to get a few other to come and will be there if at all possible.
i'd be willing to do $50-$100 entry fee and maybe a 25% payout and 75% donation. i don't know how those things typically work. Also, if you had a cook out and sold barbecue plates, hamburgers, hotdogs or something like that you might get more folks at the weigh in and for after weigh in. you'd probably need to check with lake point to get it approved as well. i am not sure how all that works.
If you know any retailers, you might be able to get some of them to donate or help out with costs as well.
My wife went through cancer as a child and is fighting it again. My prayers are for that little girl and her family.
