evinrude tach not working properly..

You guys helped me figure out the wiring but i'm getting nothing out of the tach...

on the rear i have an ignition terminal which i hooked to the purple 12v supply...and the sending unit terminal which i used the grey tach wire....and the ground which i used the black ground wire....did i hooke this up right...

it is a new teleflex lido tach

there is a setting switch for pulse and i was told to make sure it was on 6

the tach moves when the switch is turned on but nothing after that...i have found a few sytem check guauges with the tach on them but none match my present lido gauges and i'd like to get this one working...
