Recessed trolling motor tray
Hey guys, I am coming from having Tritons and Big Nitros and such, and considering an XPress X19. The one thing I have noticed is that there are not very many with the recessed trolling motor trays installed. This is a must for me. Are there problems with cutting the front deck, or are there certain models that it is a bad idea to do this to. The boat I am looking at is a 2002 X-19. Any input would be great. By the way, the boat has a VMax 200 efi on it. I imagine that combo should fly with one of my good props on it. Thanks for the info.

this should help, its the underside of your deck.
Re: Recessed trolling motor tray (cmtbasser)
I put one in my 17ft Xpress. No problems at all with the front deck. I cut through two of the support beams that run under the deck on mine and when I got the tray bolted down the deck actually felt more solid than before.
BTW the tray I installed was the ComfortTroll.

I also put one on my Xpress even after cutting a brace the front deck is solid

Look at my pics in the customization section. I put one in mine. I'll not own a boat without one. I used the EzTroll Tray in both my current boat and previous. The front deck is solid as a rock where it's installed.
