Re: 1999 tr19 hull?? (ragin_cajun92)
Triton still has the vortex hull for most of their line.
Re: 1999 tr19 hull?? (jjtriton)
so even the news still use the same hull only wider and bigger?? So it is a vortex hull
Re: 1999 tr19 hull?? (ragin_cajun92)
I believe the Vortex Hull design mainly refers to the pad area and the transition to the pad area. There have probably been a few tweeks to it here and there over the years, but I believe the concept is still roughly the same on most of the Triton Hulls.
Re: 1999 tr19 hull?? (ragin_cajun92)
'99 Hulls were pretty fast in my opinion. The biggest complaint I remember in those days was that they were a beast to handle the chine walk. I had a '99 TR-18 that would chine really bad until I learned how to drive it. I can honestly say that I haven't had any trouble driving a Triton (either mine or someone elses) since I learned how to drive that '99 TR-18.
Although they were fast hulls, in future years, Triton increased the Horse Power Limitation on the new models which to me helped compensate for any loss in speed of the new hulls...for instance, I think the '99 TR-19 was only rated for a 175 HP whereas in 2001 I think they may have gone to 200 HP.

I have a 2002 it has a 200hp
Re: 1999 tr19 hull?? (lester lewis)
isn't the 2001 tr19 longer and wider then the eariler models which is why they went to the 200 rating?

I believe it was...there's a standard calculation that's used to determine max horsepower, and I believe the tweeks they made to the hull in 2001 allowed them to move up in Horsepower on all models. I think the TR-18 actually became the TR-186 around that time.
