Need help on TR-186 cable problem
Have a 2005 TR-186 and need to run some Talon cables, but the current cable-hole is completely full with motor and gas cables. So I think I will need to cut another hole in the motor well and need some directions.
Thinking about a 1 1/2" in front of the motor, but slightly toward the cranking battery(starboard).
I want to avoid any water getting into the bilge.
1) Would you recommend a different location?
2) Will it be double-walled or solid?
3) What tools will I need to make the cut?
4) How do I make a nice clean cut?
Anyone got a suggestion on what adapter to use in the hole to prevent leakage?
I need a 1 1/2" final hole, adapter included? So I will cut 1 1/2" plus.
Thanks

I just recently install a talon on my tr-186.... I just remove the fuse and stuff from the cable so i could slide it in along the steering cables... I didnt really want a 1.5 hole in the boat... another option would be to put the quick disconnect plug on the talon (which i just recently done myself) which u just cut the cable where u want the plug and wire it in. then in should go through the cable hole also.... just a option if u didnt want to cut the hole http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

Well I did it, drilled a 1 3/4" hole in my motor well for the cables and installed a cable-boot over the hole that has a cinch-tie.
Going back to talk and console her for drilling on her now. Hope she forgives me.
