Stroker vs Ranger

First off i know that a Stroker will run 25-35 mph faster than a Ranger. But how is the fishabillity and stability compared? Also storage its there lots of it like in a Ranger? How about rough water ride? Im thinking the Ranger has the edge there but i dont know much about the Strokers! I have been looking at Fast boats and was deciding which one i was gonna get f i was gonna get a fast boat, im thinking a Black and Blue Stroker is what i want. I have run R boats for sometime now and love them! But i wanna go fast http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/devil.gif Could you guys increase my knowlage of these boats a little! IF you do some reading you can find a lot of info here on the site about the boat as for as Ride, stablity, storage, speed, handling.

These are one of the most stable fishing platforms on the water. Not sure of the size ranger you have but if it is smalle then the 21' stroker then the stroker will be a lot more stable. If it is the same same size or larger then they will be very little difference as for as being a stable platform.

The best thing is to get in one and spend the day running and fishing. You will be impressed.

Stability very close, not sure which is better. It's that close.
Ranger deck is wider up front, and they pay contingency money. IMHO, those are Rangers only plusses vs a Stroker.

Bottom line is, if you spend a day fishing & running in a Stroker, you will never go back to a Ranger. And your back will thank you.

JMO, but I was always surprised how badly the Ranger beat up my back when running in just a little chop. I have 2 buds who run Ranger's and they are very forthcoming about the less than stellar ride.

I have a 520vx one of the best models they make so everyone says! I just dont know of anyone in the area that has a Stroker, But i think you are right if it equals what the Ranger does in fishablillity i deff will not be able to go to a slower boat thats forsure! If there is anyone who has had a Ranger and went to a Stroker what are your reasons?

I went from Ranger had 2 to a Stroker on #4...........It was Rangers poor performance that made me look elsewhere......Ranger the only +s where when I went to another spot I could sit on the front deck and tie lures on while going to the next spot......and when the trolling motor is down in rough water the front bounces up slightly higher than the ranger........ ride is better and much much faster .........storage is very good in both

What do you mean by tie lures while on the way to your next spot?

I tied stuff on while waiting for the boat to get wherever sat on the front deck faceing back wards and would turn the wheel every so often to keep it in the right direction.......Ranger 1 ran 53-55top Ranger 2 rocketed to a blistering 63 one time mostly it ran 59......it really makes lakes seam much much smaller...sometimes I might not go to a place that was far away with the ranger would spend too much time behind the wheel........


Not only is it faster but it a hell of alot more fun

If it means anything i wouldnt give my old 94 stroker up for a brand spankin new R boat. Just as stable, more efficient hull and better fuel economy, plenty of storage, high resale value, and a lot more fun to drive.

The only things I see that a Ranger may have over a Stroker is Advertising, a little more bling on the dash and big soft seats. I have ran across Lake Okeechobee doing 95mph and you can cross that big lake pretty dam quick at that speed.

Love my little R, one of the better 18 footers ive been in, and I can run close to 70 in mine with under 200 horses. The newer 18's keep getting heavier and heavier. If I would ever move up to a larger boat, I would highly consider a stroker! http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boardstuff2/beers.gif

I have also never been in a stroker and dont know anything much about these storkers but herd lots of great things about them...I looked into bullets in the past and ive also fished out of a bullet 20xd and it's just horrible 5 to 10mph wind and small wakes will tost it around also when walking around in it the bullet is not stable at all kinda like a aluminum boat and the front deck is so high off the water...no offense ..

.im also looking for a newer and faster boat for the upcoming year and strokers on my list but im just afraid I might run into some of the problems Ive mention, it being so light...

I own a 19 ft ranger as well and love it to death and its one of the most stable boat ive every been in and its time to move on to something esle...but im definitely looking into a stroker

Henry, we can tell ya all da long that they fish very well and are stable, but you must fish out of one and ride in it to decide for yourself!!

I owned a 20XD and where it is not as stable as a Ranger I didn't think that it was that bad, I would own another Bullet as well as a Stroker or Allison http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif
