Took the wife on a leisurely cruise down the river this morning. The engine ran great, really couldn't tell if the reed block gave the engine any more hp but it sure did like to hit the limiter (6450). Was running the 28 Performer 3 blade. Check out this video at 44 seconds when it bumped the limiter.

Wife says the boat is too fast (what ever that means...) and it is very cold (chilly 60 degrees), take me back to the ramp!!!
Ed: Nice video, kinda wakes you up when that limiter is bumped! Go put on a bigger wheel and lets see what it will do. Be safe and thanks for sharing http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif
Sweet video. Keep that thing top side http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/thumbsup2.gif

Ed let me know when your going agin I have a stack of 29s and 2 30s you can try also that boat on the right that you went by at 70 isnt that in the no wake zone http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/roll.gif
I'd love to try a 30 bravo if you got one of them. I'd really like to see how a 30 TXP would compare to the Bravo too. Unfortunately I have to go back to work on Tues afternoon. Won't be able to run it again until after Jan 5th. Today was the first time I hit the limiter, and did so repeatedly. About ten times. Don't know if it was the cold weather or the reed plate but the throttle did seem a bit more crisp. Also getting pretty comfortable running the boat. Can't wait to put a new motor on it but this 3.0 seems to be strong and has lots of life left in it. Insides were spotless when I had it apart. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif
That boat was way north of the Alva ramp...
I mistakenly left the livewell open so I was running with extra weight, and a full fuel tank too.

I know the bigger wheel is what should be run, just never hit the limiter before even with the 28. Now that I'm getting comfortable with the rig and it hit the limiter yesterday (I was watching the tach and waiting for it to happen...), I just wanted to get used to it hitting 6450 and to see how it would react. Thats why I hit it repeatedly yesterday. It's very controllable, drops 10 mph and straightens right back out. I learned with the 34 to keep into the throttle...don't come off all the way or it gets very loose. Same with the 28.
BTW...whats a 28 bullet cut Performer 3 going for on the market????? No sense in keeping this prop for this rig.
Anyone interested in a trade???
