Stratos 285 ProXL w/ Recessed Foot Control Trolling Motor - Help Needed

My trolling motor pedal is recessed and I fished in an absolute monsoon last weekend. I just assumed their was a drain hole somewhere down in the recessed area but the entire recessed area filled up with water. Should there be drain hole? I removed the pedal and there is a hole that is plugged up with rubber plug so no water can escape. Any input would be apprecitaed.

yes it should drain. Take the plug out and let her drain down in the hull.

drain and dry that pedal out real good, I would unplug its power and put a little fan on it. You don't want it shorting out and ruining a trip.
