Re: 2006 201 Pro XL (datilus)
24p, wow, it should spin it up quickly...I'd think a 25 minimum and really a 27 would be closer. If you can use the rpms you should see mid/high 70s. Sounds like someone is keeping their "good prop".
I have a 225 on my 201 and I run a 25 and get a little over 70 (w/ a 6" j/p)
Re: 2006 201 Pro XL (GregInAtl)
i run a 225 ho with a 8" jp and a 27 tempest plus.. getting low 70's with a heavy load...
Re: 2006 201 Pro XL (datilus)
Are you sure it is a HO. I don't think they made a 250 Etec HO in 2006. It may be a 250 Etec (non HO)

The boat is an 06. The person that has the boat put a 2008 250 HO on the boat. Yes I am sure. Sorry, I forgot to mention the year of the motor in the original post. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/smileys/smile.gif
Re: 2006 201 Pro XL (datilus)
The 250 Etec HO has 1.71:1 gear ratio so it will turn a smaller pitch, but it should still turn a 26 I would think.

You may need to replace the 24p Raker with another prop after you get used to driving it and can handle the boat at wot. I run a 27p Tempest + on mine.
