I am looking to repower with this motor. It only has 20 hours on it but can anyone tell me anything about this motor. I have not heard anything bad about evinrudes since BRP purchased OMC. Just looking for a little feed back.

Post your model # and the gurus can give you a warranty history. Good motors I love my 03 225!!! Run the xd-100, you can get it in bulk at most dealers and save a few bucks, but it seems mine has run better since I switched over. Especially run the xd-100 in the winter, you can switch to the xd-50 if ya want in the summer. I like the fact that I don't have to decarb with the 100.JMHO Hope this helps.
Thanks, as soon as I can I will post. The only history on this motor that I know is the original owner that had the motor was running it in the river and jake the motor all the way out and burnt the power head. The power head has been replaced with a brand new one and it only has 20 hours on the motor.

http://xs-s.com/zf/images/smile/emthup.gif Mine had 18 hours on it when I got it. Ran it in cold weather on the xd-50 had a no oil alarm ,switched to the xd-100 at the request of my tech and no more problems. I've stayed with it since the motor runs so good.
