http://i34.tinypic.com/125l3yc.jpg I have a 2000 Stratos 283 Vindicator single console bassboat that I would like to replace the Depth/Fish finder in the console with a X175 Lowrance or something about the same size. Is it possible and what might be the easiest way to do so? Thanks
RAM mount it next to the console. On the Stratos I used to have, there wasnt enough room between the speedo and tach for a 5" Lowrance unit.
I mounted one in the dash of my 273DC. It had a x 25 in dash and I put a x85 back in. Had to do some trimming. It touches both the inside of tach and speedo. Don't look bad at all..
I guess i will do a little more checking out before I do one bit of cutting.
Like Neil suggested......Ram mount a unit where the X75 is located. You could remove the console unit and install a fitted piece of, aluminum, lexan, or carbon fiber, Then install another item in it like a smartcraft gauge, flasher, clock, etc.
Whoops...scratch the smartcraft idea...I see you don't own a Mercury.
Whatever you decide to do, think twice and think again before you cut into that dash shroud. It is not one I have been able to locate. The vendor no longer has the mold to make it either.
